Pain only lasts a moment

Location: Where ever you want it to be!
Rating: I am going to say pg - 13 for now, will raise it if need be
Time: November 28th from 12pm til 4pm
Description: Luke has some time off to recover from his arm, but doesn't want to stay with sick!Asch anymore right now, so he is out... while also on his painkillers. ( Read more... )

Sometime in the late afternoon, Hikaru was coming back from work, intending to buy some food as usual and go back to his apartment (we'll say he somewhere in between the two). His hair was tied back in a bandana but his was still wiping his hand across his forehead in that way people do when they were already giving in after a long day. Though the bright red hair was hard to miss, and that brought him to turn his head.

"Hey, Luke!" Hikaru lifted a hand to wave and promptly frowned when he saw his arm. "Ach, what happened? You went on that mission, huh?"

Luke turned his head to look at Hikaru, the action slow, so as not to leave his head spinning. He looked at the man for a moment with a look of confusion on his face before it cleared up, a smile finding it's way to his lips. "~karu!" He said happily, not even noticing that he had dropped the first part of the name. "mmmm got a little hurt, but it isn't bad." he answered and it became clear who ever had put the sling on him and made sure he couldn't move the arm at all as his shoulder shrugged a little while he tried to wave his arm to show it didn't hurt.

"...Karu," Hikaru snorted a little, "What's Karu?" He frowned a little more seriously though once he saw that Luke was ... well, under the influence, so to speak. A quick turn of his head was given to see if he wasn't being accompanied by someone. Seriously, wouldn't that be better? "Should you be out wandering around like this?" He asked, putting a hand on the redhead's forehead once he was close enough, to see if he had a fever or if he was just in pain. His hand went to Luke's good shoulder just to make sure he was steady.

"Did you just bust out of the joint or what?" He had to admit the thought was kind of amusing, considering how quiet and pouty Luke was when they met.

He giggled slightly at the question, but decided against pointing out that he had said Hikaru's name. Especially as he ignored it in favor of pressing into the hand on his forehead, he wasn't too hot, maybe a little warm but the hand there felt nice and comforting, as did the one that ended up on his shoulder.

"Didn't wanna be stuck with Asch 'nny more, he~s sick, and a grumpy pants. So I went out."

At least he didn't seem to have much of a fever if any. But now Hikaru couldn't just leave him wandering around. "Asch... yeah, you mentioned him." If he recalled. A friend but not really a friend, wasn't that right. "You wanna hang with me? I'm going to take a wi-ld guess here and say they put you on some painkillers. I don't even know how you're still walking, to be honest." He'd be sleeping like the dead if it were him. He kinda felt like sleeping like the dead anyway, and all he did was work.

"He is so~oo mean some days.... then he goes all nice and I can't figure out if he hates me or likes me. Wish he would pick one and stick with it, less confusing that way." Luke smiled brightly at Hikaru again at the offer to hang out. "O~kay! Yeah, they gave me pills, now I don't hurt!" He had slept most of the day before so he was too antsy to sit and stay at home, and like his original he was stubborn about behaving when injured.

Hikaru was sort of humoring Luke a little, but he laughed some and gave a nod of his head. "I've had some friends like that." So he figured that this Asch person probably did like Luke.

Hikaru gave him a little pat on the back and began walking a little. "As long as you feel alright, I guess. The earth's not spinning or anything?" He'd put his hand back on his shoulder if he needed to. "You hungry? 'Cause I'm gonna eat something either way." He was starving. Any minute now, his stomach was going to growl at him, he knew it.

"MMmmhhh~ I am good so long as I don't nod or shake my head, then the world starts spinning too fast." He says, finishing speaking before starting to move, his brain restricted to one action or another. He moved slowly, but didn't seem to be falling all over the place and had only the slightest bit of weaving in his walk. "Food sounds good." He said, his mind drifting a little to wonder if he had eaten before taking his pills like the doctors told him to.

"Okay well take it easy." Hikaru kept a steady hand on Luke's shoulder to keep him from weaving or possibly tripping and getting hurt again. "Ok. So there should be a grocery store or a convenient store around here somewhere." He wasn't a very healthy eater, but it was quick and convenient when he was tired and had to keep an eye on someone. "What do you like to eat?"

Luke appreciated the hand, and even moved a bit closer to Hikaru, having the sudden urge to snuggle the older male. He was friendly enough and his painkillers were fairly convincing that this was a good idea. He looked up a little, answering with "Anything Asch makes... his food tastes good." He really didn't notice that his response wasn't particularly helpful, not that he was going to notice something he didn't like in his food at this point.

Hikaru didn't really seem to mind or maybe he didn't notice or maybe it had been a while since he'd even been that close to anyone else -- in an innocent sense! so it wasn't a bad thing. Though he did frown a little at the answer. Yeah, definitely not helpful. He hadn't even met this guy let alone experienced what he cooked on a daily basis.

"Right. Well we'll figure something."

Luke noticed the little frown and gave one of his own, reaching up to push his finger into Hikaru's cheek, to make him smile.

Hikaru blinked at the poke to his cheek a bit, glancing down at Luke. "Hey, come on, it's rude to poke an old man in the face." Kids these days, right? But he does smile somewhat. A crooked what are you doing sort of smile.

"Your not tha~t old Hikaru!" he responds, his own smile returning with Hikaru's. It is nice to be comfortable around someone again, it was a bit like when he was around Guy, especially when he would take care of Luke when he was sick.

"Now don't try to make me feel better, you're young!" Though he was mostly teasing, it was true that he sometimes reminisced about how nice it was to be seventeen.

Eventually he made his way to the grocery store with Luke in tow, stepping inside. He probably shouldn't stuff the redhead full of junk food or this Asche person might murder him. What would be good.... soup? "Hmmm.." he thought out loud, looking around for a minute.

"But you're not o~ld. My dad's old, my uncle is super old! You're not old." He responded back in an almost sing-song voice, a little giggle following it up, making him sound less like a seventeen year old and more of a seven year old.

Luke heard the sound but was distracted by looking around him, all of the bright colors and things, it was quite a bit for his drug fogged brain.
