[Squalo strolled to the training grounds with a lazy, almost graceless gaunt that spoke of utter disinterest of what he was about to do. That would be a lie, because he was so very interested in making Nataku a head shorter than he currently was.

He tried to control it, though, pushing back personal feelings on the matter because he didn't want to get too out of hand. It would be fun to just beat the idiot's face into the pavement and give him a lesson on manners. Obviously he wasn't worth killing at all, and Squalo - unlike some members of his family, and what others kept insisting about him - didn't kill without a good reason.

Mindless slaughter was so boring, anyway.

With such thoughts in mind, Squalo found his way to where Nataku stood and stopped a good ways from him, considering. He smirked.]

VOOOII, you did show up. I'm impressed.

Why are you surprised?

[Wiping at his eye, he cannot deny that he is quite tired. The mission was rather long and he felt a pang of chill every so often as he thought of those that were fighting -- concern? He supposes that is what it was, but now it has faded somewhat because almost everyone has returned safely. Almost. Hm.

He lifts his head up as he realizes that it has dropped.]

I am not going to back down from you. But if you apologize for all that you have done, I will forgive you.

I only apologize if I fucking regret something.

[This world and the madness in it, and how much it gnawed and ate away his pride and the horrifying things he'd almost done, not horrifying in and of themselves, but horrifying because he hadn't chosen to do them and---]

And sadly for you, I don't regret anything.

[Squalo grinned and kept himself smug, because Nataku clearly didn't deserve any more than that. Watson's faulty judgment aside, and he wasn't falling for that anyway. He knew better.]

Then, I shall make you regret what it is that you have done. [A beat.] You can apologize afterward.

[Transforming his other arm into its partial weapon form, he lightly nods his head toward Squalo.] I will be attacking you now. [Manners tell him that he should do so.]

[Nataku gets an obnoxious laugh before Squalo lets his left hand and forearm melt into his partial form, grinning.]

Have at it, kid.

[And then it's on.]

I understand.

[He allows a second to pass before he rushes toward Squalo. Swinging his transformed arm toward the other, his hope is to lash out to knock him backward -- though, he does humor the idea of wrapping the ribbon around the other's throat to crush the windpipe that makes so much noise.

No. There would be too many people upset if he killed someone.]

[Squalo leaped above, twisting so he was now facing Nataku's back, and rushed forward while still keeping that lazy air about him. He was showing off. Not too much, but surely he wouldn't need much?

He laughed, and aimed to smack Nataku with the flat of the sword.]

[(What?) His head lifts a little as he tries to follow the movement, his arm slamming into the ground where Squalo was. Nataku does realize that his movements are a lot slower as are his reflexes. He should have gone to bed to rest instead of deciding to fight the man, but he cannot back out now.

Turning around, he only does so to meet with the side of the partial Weapon form -- and falls on his back. Staring up at the man, the ribbon lashes out to wrap around his ankle to twist and have him fall down as well. There is no reason why he should be the only one down.]

[And down goes Squalo, except he's clutching the ground and using his momentum to tug at Nataku and give him some nice inertia-flavored slam into the grass.

Squalo's still smirking.

[And a choking gasp as he slams into the ground. He really is not fighting as well as he could -- is that because he is not trying to kill his opponent?

Narrowing his eyes, he wraps the partial weapon form around Squalo's neck.]

Why do you continue to smile when you have nothing to smile about?

[Squalo's grin got, if possible, wider, just before he melted into light and reshaped into his weapon form, the handle of which slipped through Nataku's ribbon, just barely, before he was transforming again, skidding back and away with a grin that promised murder.]

VOOOII, I have plenty to smile about, kid.

[But, and he made a mental note of that, he needed to watch out for that ribbon, because he doubted he would be able to escape as easily, if he got caught again.]

[There's a difference between sparring and trying to kill each other. His attention alighted on them out of curiosity at first until the obvious animosity between the two spurred him to believe that this was latter.

He moved toward them, displeasure evident and ready to personally intervene if either of them moved toward each other again]

Oi, you two there. What do you think you're doing?
