TEAM CAPCOM. Also late is forever relative. getyourgunson July 2 2011, 14:01:25 UTC
[Date very easily feels Dante's nauseousness and his desire to puke, and really had it been in any other situation, he would really have told Dante that he had warned him, but then Dante didn't listen and that was the result of it.

As it was the situation was serious now and Date isn't going to waste his breath on something he had been trying to warn Dante for the last six hours, so the warlord is simply going to really hope that nothing happens during the mission and keep him stable as much as possible through their resonance. As he does that he also nods in response to Vergil's question, the grin on his face betraying none of the momentary irritation he has towards Dante at the moment.]

You got it. [Grins wider, tightening his grip on Rebellion.] Hold on, coz' this is going to be pretty wild. [And saying that he increases his pace, dashing forward with even more speed than before as he swings Dante around quickly, channelling energy out in a shockwave that flies right towards the kishins before them and knocks them back, creating their needed opening.

Date doesn't waste a second after that too, as he lets out a bark of laughter and plunges himself right into the fray without a second thought. The first unfortunate kishin in his way is immediately skewered right through the center, a victim of Rebellion's Stinger move.]

TEAM CAPCOM IS GOOD. And one day later is not late. wittyreplyhere July 3 2011, 12:01:07 UTC
[Dante is doing a remarkably good job keeping himself under control despite the situation. Although he does idly wonder if Date is deliberately choosing moves that would most likely make things worse for him.

His nausea and the fact that he still hadn't fully recovered from his injury meant that achieving the level of resonance high enough to get the awakened form of Rebellion was out of the question no matter what kind of situation arose.]

Thanks. [It's mildly annoying to have to ask somebody else to do something that once upon a time he simply would have done himself with literally a thought. Summoned Swords and Judgment Cut used to be so convenient. He pushes the thought to the back of his mind though and concentrates on the battle at hand. At least trailing behind for a moment there means he can make sure nothing tries to encircle Date.]

Let's keep it moving! [Best way to make sure they don't get surrounded is to make sure they keep driving forward. One Kishin Egg attempts to jump in and follow Date from behind, but he simply runs past and slices a leg out from under it and continues forward, shifting just left of the other Meister and staying out of Dante's range.]

I could use some electricity. I'd rather they didn't get back up immediately after the first strike. [While he doesn't expect to kill one with a single blow, it's just as good if he can drop each one long enough for them to keep plowing through.]

Of course.

[It was becoming easier each and every time to summon up the proper charge and wreathe the entire length of his blade with electricity. He didn't comment on the irritation from Vergil that he felt seeping through their bond; he was a patient man. There will be missions in the future.]

[Making sure to keep a mental tab on Dante (the idiot seemed well enough for now, at least), Date continues to plunge on through the fight without pause, feeling the energy and adrenaline surging through his entire body. It's been a while since he could let himself loose like this - and truth be told, it was liberating. Michigan had been good too, but it hadn't been as good as this where he could just cut loose and not care much for everything else. Plus the more of these things he killed, the better. They deserved it anyway, for everything they did and everything they put him through.

Grin still on his face, the warlord is nothing but the picture of the dragon he was so well-renowned for by everyone else, blood under his fingers and his might practically carving through the ranks as he attacks without relent. Attacks without pause. Its nothing but an all-out attack for the One-Eyed Dragon, and there's no way Date is going to stop now.

As he twists around to deal another slashing blow to one of the other kishins Date holds his foot down, ensuring that his balance is solid as he turns around expertly and with both hands, swings Dante towards the next kishin that foolishly attempts to jump on him and sends it flying upwards from the force of the attack. Wasting no time after that Date jumps right up, a flash of red light flaring momentarily in mid-air as Air Hike is used and the warlord is above the kishin. He roars out a battlecry as he shifts his hold on Rebellion to bring it overhead of the kishin, Helm Breaker doing its work as the beast crashes right back to the ground from the force of the blow, the impact cracking the ground below it.]

[While Date is using his fancy borrowed footwork, Dante is just trying to avoid paying attention to his surroundings. The less he knew what kind of movements he was involved in the better. He was trying to do the equivalent of closing his eyes and covering his ears. He also started yelling loudly at the top of his mental voice, hopefully it wasn't too much of a distraction.]

Thanks. [Now that was taken care of, he can pay full attention to the task at hand. In his own right, he's never been inclined towards an aggressive style of fighting, which is something that only really now becomes overly evident now that they're trying to part a veritable sea of enemies. Also trying to match Date in bladework stroke for stroke isn't exactly possible, considering, so it makes more sense to adjust their tactics. Vergil's likely at risk of simply being left behind, otherwise.]

We've got your back. [He can understand why Koujurou might serve that role just a little now, despite his strength. They fight differently, and it's better to avoid getting swept up in the Dragon's onslaught. Then again, in this particular case Vergil's vividly aware of the difference in power as well. While the two Meisters might be equal, that all changes when resonance and their Weapons come into the picture. He simply just can't do the same thing. He doesn't have that same experience with wielding Koujurou to match that destructive power.

Still, he'll do what he can. With Black Dragon wreathed in lightning, each arc leaves a blazing white trail glowing in mid-air as Vergil steps into the space left by Date after he leaps into the air, slicing from low to high and removing one Kishin's Egg leg and cutting away the descending claw of another in a single slash. If he was grateful for one thing, it's that the both of them are wielding Weapons with the reach suited for mass combat.]

[Feeling the way Vergil could wield him and slice through virtually anything that stood in his way did, admittedly, give Koujurou a sense of grim satisfaction. They could only get better from here on, with more missions, with more battles.

He did not relish war, but he was one to understand that all of this was a means to an end. He and Date needed to go home. This was how they were going to do it.]

I do not wish to impede upon your schedule, Vergil, but I feel that we should go on a mission again soon, after this.

[And maybe, just maybe, he wanted to have more opportunities to get to know his Meister better.]

[The heat of the battle is what's running in his head, his body, his soul - and as much as Date is immersed into it, Dante's mental screaming really isn't doing much to make things helpful for him. The warlord visibly winces when the shouting starts, just managing to keep his eyes on the battle even if a part of him is more than distracted (and annoyed) at all that shouting.]

Keep it down in there for a second, would you? [He doesn't bother to do it mentally, not really when he has other things to be concerned with. Already on the ground again, Date ducks low to avoid the kishin that jumps over him, turning around after that to deal a fine slash onto the thing and using the momentum to propel him forward, going onto the next kishin almost instantly.

Another slash and twist, and as that kishin is flung away from the end of Rebellion Million Stab comes into play and the kishin is instantly pierced through countless times by the seemingly neverending thrusts from the claymore. Date lets out a heavy breath as the final stab throws it backwards towards the other kishins, slamming into the other as he shouts the ending word.] Breakdown!

[Dante likewise doesn't bother with the mental link between them. His head's reeling and it's easier to speak than to focus on communicating silently.]

Then stop moving around so much!

[There's no heat behind his words. He just wants it to be finished as quickly as possible, hopefully before he gets too sick to do anything more than curl up in a corner after.

He's not even in the mood to yell out 'Breakdown' along with him like he usually would of.]

The sooner the better, I think. [Once they'd wound down a little from the current one, of course. These days Vergil certainly has a fair number of demands on his time, but he knows his priorities. The only way he - they - are going to get any stronger is to go out and fight more battles. Regularly. At least preparations are complete for his other projects, now, otherwise he'd feel compelled to apologize for the delay so far.

He's confident enough that the power they have is adequate enough as is for this mission, at least. There's a reason he didn't volunteer for potential suicide inside the Witch's compound.]

Dante. [Vergil's tone is resigned. He follows after Date, but swiftly sways and ducks as a Kishin Egg swipes a claw down upon him. Taking a hand from Black Dragon, he seizes the creature by the wrist and promptly redirects its momentum and hurls it over his shoulder and down onto the ground.] Do you mind? The adults are busy. [He casually flicks his arm underarm and slices the throat out of the prone enemy, then keeps moving.]

My schedule, of course, is freer than yours. You need only say the word.

[And later, Vergil's reaction to his master's antics amused him. The Meister may have felt it through their resonance.

More kishin were charging their way, caring little for the fate of their companions.]

[Even with the battle raging around them, Date still can't help but put on a pure look of disbelief at Dante's answer, not quite sure that he's hearing that right.]

If you haven't noticed, we're in a battle-- [He stops then in order to deal a swift strike to one of the kishins about to jump him, sending it flying back in half from a well-timed slash with Rebellion.] --moving is required in here!

[This is why eating all that ice-cream was not a good idea, Dante. Date grits his teeth, scowling as he tries to pump up their resonance even more, ducking down to avoid one of the lunging kishins before twisting to deal a slash right across its midsection, hearing the scream that comes after that. He recovers quickly, dealing another Stinger at the next kishin that attempts to attack him head on and promptly tossing the body away at the others nearby.]

Less-- [A pause as he finds himself impaled inside a kishin before he realises he's not going to get blood in his mouth if he continues to talk.] --waving around, who says you have to do fancy tricks?

[Dante also has a few things to say to Vergil for his snide comments and he waits until Date has tossed the body away before he makes his move. It's foreign to him, taking into account his timing so Date won't get injured. The only thing he had to calculate normally was when to shoot or jump or move to do the maximum amount of damage in the more flashy way possible.

So it's in a brief lull, when he knows that doing this won't affect anything that he partially transforms back and flips the bird at Vergil.]

I don't see any adults here!

[Once he's said what he's wanted to say he reverts back to his Weapon form.]

[At first he simply snorts at Dante's display of immaturity. He'd say more, but suddenly he has more Kishin Eggs to deal with. At least he's conscious of the fact that his movements are growing faster and lighter under the influence of Soul Adrenaline. If there is one similarity between him and Dante in combat, though, it's that they both know how to place their attacks for the best effect. Vergil, however, capitalizes on economy. Kill each enemy the fastest way with only the minimum effort required.

Well, there isn't anything wrong with using style while doing so, of course.]

At least your transformation abilities have matured- [He evades another slash of a claw and seizes the limb at the end of the attack, yanking its owner roughly and spinning it around and into another Kishin Egg. In turn, he impales both at once upon the long blade of Black Dragon, twists, then tears it out.] -if nothing else. [He shoots a look at Dante, shortly before reversing the sword and stabbing behind him blindly, skewering a third enemy attempting to pounce upon him.]

[Conversationally:] It's a pity we don't get more missions like these. These mass-produced creatures are rather... weak. [Not like the solitary ones that had entire towns to themselves. They were actually challenging. Some of these barely qualified as Kishin Eggs, probably.]

I would prefer it if we did not have to fight any of these at all.

[As it was, anyone who has been in Death City long enough would know who these kishin eggs once were. Still, a job is a job. War was great like that.]
