Mukuro, in the meantime, was finally on the way back with his (bundle of joy) companion of the moment. It hadn't been difficult, slinking over and sneaking Allen Walker out of his apartment, but it had not been the quickest break in and thieving he had ever done either.

The Meister knocked at the balcony door of his apartment with Rhode much in the same way that he had knocked at Allen's window earlier. He was smiling, looking quite pleased. He also wasn't making any moves to drop Allen, whom he happened to be carrying bridal style.

Allen for his part wore an expression of reluctant acceptance and embarrassment. He’d stopped struggling about one block into their journey, he wasn’t exactly comfortable with the position but at least they didn’t have such a long way to go. Mukuro would have to put him down once they arrived, better not to prolong the trip. He glanced at the older man, feeling himself shifted so that Mukuro could knock.

“…that might have been easier if you just put me down,” he quipped dryly but otherwise made no demands. Allen recognised the kind of amusement in Mukuro’s expression, he probably was a good match for Rhode.

Rhode jumped a bit at the knock, surprised as always by the sudden change in entry point. Seeing her partner and their dinner guest, however, she nearly sprinted to the door, coming to a stop with a graceful pause before unlocking and sliding the glass door to the side. Apparently the fact that Mukuro was carrying Allen didn't strike her as immediately odd, because all she did was beam up at them and step back to let them in.

"Hullo!" to Allen, and a "Welcome home!" for Mukuro, taking a moment to smooth her hair before Allen would be able to get his feet on the ground and get a good look at her. "I'm glad you got out. Was Mukuro careful with you? Not that he's ever really rough, but I'd rather not have you shaken up before dinner."

"It would be, wouldn't it?"

And that was the only comment Mukuro got before Rhode came around. The Meister beamed, and promptly released Allen accordingly.

"Of course I was careful with him, my dear. Did you really think I wouldn't be?"
