Lucy, please terra_inflexus June 14 2011, 22:45:47 UTC
[Generally, Toph avoids the butler and maid cafés. It's stupidly frilly, and a waste of time.

But she heard something about the maids in cat ears, and she'd heard that Lucy worked there, so she's popping in for moral support]

[Though Lucy was new to the entire "maid cafe" thing - she had adjusted fairly quickly. After all, it did cater to all of strengths -- at least in her most humble and modest opinion (sarcasm intended).

Hearing the chime of the door, Lucy ran out to the front, full of enthusiasm and clad in ... cat ears.]

Welcome home, mast- T-Toph!?! [Okay, this was admittedly kind of embarrassing.]

Hey, Luce.

[Toph waves a little]

I heard about the cat ears thing, so I stopped by for moral support. [Her stomach rumbles] And food.

[At least Toph couldn't see how uncomfortable (or more like embarrassed) she was. Though, her sigh of relief probably made that as clear as day.]

Thanks, Toph! I really appreciate it. ...though, I guess when it comes to costumes, I can't say I'm unaccustomed to them. [Her voice becomes a little unsettled, but she conceals it pretty well with one of her casual laughs.] If it's food then you've come to the right place. Though, it might not seem like it - the food here is pretty good!

[Toph nudges Lucy's arm sympathetically, before gesturing in the direction she's pretty sure the food comes from.]

Then lead the way! I'm starving!

[She smiles at the nudge and naturally complies.]

Of course! You can count on me. [She leads Toph towards an open table near the stores front. Once all situated, she gingerly pulls out a menu from the side.] What would you like to order, master? [She fingers through the menu momentarily.] I recommend the set lunches if you're feeling really hungry! Plus, it's pretty well balanced!

Do me a favor, and don't call me that, please, unless you have to.

[Remind her too much of her parents. Ugh]

What's in them?

Ah, sorry about that. It easily becomes a habit, you see... [Oh, right!] Then would you prefer another title? Like princess? [Because it was too funny to resist and a large part of her is being entirely serious.]

Each lunch set comes with a different main course, like omelet rice or sandwiches, dessert and a drink of your choice. The dessert options are great too!

If you have to call me anything, can it be sifu? [Ego boost yes] Also, Luce? You're going to have to read off the menu or something. [She waves a hand in front of her eyes]

LET'S PRETEND THIS WAS MORE ELABORATE. ;; celestialistic June 17 2011, 05:12:52 UTC
Sifu, then. [A large part of her was looking forward to calling Toph, "princess," but somehow Sifu kind of has a nice ring to it too]

Oh, right! Hold on. [She opens back up the menu and clears her throat.] Okay, let's see here. For hot foods, we have curry with pork cutlet, omelet rice, club sandwiches, spaghetti with tomato and basil aaaand each order either comes with a side of rice, salad or french fries, it's basically all up to you! So whatever you prefer, just tell me!

Then there's soups. There's chicken with wild rice, vegetable minestrone, and clam chowder. They all come about two slices of french bread or you can get it in a bread bowl. [A pause as she flips the page.]Then for desserts we have macroons which come in strawberry, sea salt and caramel, mango, raspberry, chocolate and lemon. We also have fruit tarts, shortcakes and crepes which also come in a variety of flavors. Though, currently the most popular flavor is strawberry. There's also cream puffs, danishes and tiramisu ( ... )

How spicy is the curry? [Because that was about the only thing she recognized on the lunch list. Well, spaghetti, too, but what the heck was basil?]

For the curry, [she briefly eyes the small print] it says here that it comes in mild, medium and spicy. Which do you prefer, Sifu?

Mild, with green tea if you guys have that. And, uh....do you guys have plum tarts? I've been craving them for months and no one has 'em.

We have green tea and I'm thinking we also have the plum tarts. I'm positive I've heard someone mention it, at least. [She jots the order down on her notepad.] I'll go and double check and be back with your order, all right?

[Cue her walking off for a bit. A few minutes of this and she returns with a smile, placing her order in front of her and surprisingly the plum tart as well. She's obviously feeling pretty happy.] They have it!

Sweet.

[Toph starts eating, smiling after her first bite of curry]

This stuff is pretty good! So, what's a maid café, anyway?

GUH, sorry this is so late. ;; celestialistic June 26 2011, 07:08:25 UTC
I'm glad you think so. Maybe, after work, I can bring you something to eat once in a while. [Still smiling because it's kind of hard not to with Toph.]

I guess I'd consider it a specialty café? You know, where it caters to certain people's ... [Would this be called a fetish? ...well, er, that's a word she would avoid.] preferences for maids? [It's not very hard to gauge the awkwardness in her voice.]
