Minako ran her finger lightly across the front of the glass, grinning as the little fluffy balls of fur in the window mewed and clambered over each other trying to follow it.

"Hmm..."

She did have an idea of what she wanted, yes. But actually being here and seeing all the pets in one place was making the decision a bit tougher.

"I guess taking them all home would be out of the question, huh?"

"If you wanna clean that kind of mess, more power to you." His mouth quirked into a not smile as he watched her play with the kittens.

"Just don't end up with a lizard or something, got it?"

With one last tap against the glass, Minako stepped back with a small smile.

"Why not a lizard? They're surprisingly cute when you're not having to feed them bugs and such for dinner."

She laced her fingers together behind her back and squinted in through the glass,

"Not that it matters. I think I'm probably gonna look for a dog."

"You can't pet or train a lizard." He arched a brow at that, completely uncomprehending of why anyone would want something like that in their house. Regardless he moved to the door, shouldering it open for her.

"Dogs are good. You come off like a dog person."

"I don't know about that!" Minako grinned, bumping her shoulder lightly against Shinjiro's arm. "Who said you couldn't pet a lizard?"

Blinking slightly as Shinjiro moves away, before a smile crossed her face and she made her way through the door he held open.

"Ah, a dog?" She paused, and stared thoughtfully at the floor. "I guess. I have missed Koromaru here. It'd be nice to have a dog."

"Hmm..." Shinjiro grunted, both at her come back and at the mention of Koromaru. He missed the mutt too. There was something to say for the silent companionship and unquestioned loyalty.

"Well then start looking. I'll... wait here." he stood next to a pen full of... ferrets, all of them stretching up to sniff his coat eagerly.

Minako didn't say anything, instead she just raised an eyebrow at Shinjiro pointedly. She knew how much he adored Koromaru - it was slightly obvious, no matter how much he tried to hide it - and likely by extension was a fan of dogs altogether. And he wanted to stay at the door? Finally, she grabbed his arm and nudged him slightly in the side.

"Nuh-uh. Picking a pet is an important decision you know. I'm going to want a second opinion!"

he grunted, letting her lead him around... though to be honest he DID want to help her choose. This was kinda important after all.

"Okay first things first-- how much time do you have for a dog everyday, with work and all that?"

Minako slowed down slightly, her hand slipping down Shinjiro's lower arm to clutch his hand instead as she frowned thoughtfully at the floor.

"Well... I'm not at work for the whole day usually. My most common shift is the afternoon one, so I generally have the morning off except for training when I make it. I finish by 5-6pm, so I have the evening as well."

She tilted her head and looked up at Shinjiro,

"I was thinking of a smaller dog anyway. I want to walk it everyday if I can, but even back home there were times we couldn't always walk Koromaru every night." They tried though. They all tried. "At least a smaller dog wouldn't feel so cooped up in the apartment... in theory."

"I agree that a smaller dog would be better, but you should not let that be the sole factor," Katsura commented, casually emerging from some other part of the pet shop as if he had heard nothing.

...a look at his face and the puppy he was fussing over would certainly make for a convincing argument in that direction.
