Characters: [Luke Fon Fabre & Hikaru Taira] Location: [Casualty Communal Community common area] Rating: [PG: Luke can be crass] Time: [November 14th Mid-morning] Description: [Luke makes a friend]
[ And eventually here comes Taira walking by, a bag of food rolled up and tucked under his arm as he ditches the end of a cigarette before he comes inside. ]
[Today... maybe today he could greet someone.]Hello.[He germicide slightly, when did he get so quiet... so unnerved just by the idea of talking to a new person?]
[That startled Luke, he hadn't expected the person to hear him, and now that he had Luke started fretting a bit.]
Uh... um... yeah, a little bit.
[Score he hated feeling so very awkward around people lately. Part of him wanted to blame it all on what he had been through recently; but he also knew that if he really wanted to become someone better, like he had told Asch he did, than he had to face up to the fact that he just didn't know how to deal with people on his own.]
[ And he has no problem stopping to talk to a complete stranger. He barely knows anyone and is used to knowing anyone. If he notices how awkward the guy is, he doesn't say anything. Instead, he takes some kind of breakfast sandwich out of his bag and takes a bite. ]
No, I wasn't... I don't... I don't know any of them... don't really know many people here at all.
[It was a bit hard for him... Luke was lonely... he needed more people, and more frequently, around him, like it had been for him before; but he was afraid of what making friends with people could mean.]
[ Hikaru shrugs a bit. ] Me either. But that's why you have to approach people and strike up a conversation. Like this.
[ He's used to it, though. Almost everyone in his usual hang out back home at least knows his name. He holds out the sandwich he'd just taken a couple of bites out of, not thinking it was weird at all. ] Want some? It's pretty good like this.
[Luke blinked up at the sandwich that was being held out to him, his stomach giving a grumble of approval; after all he had not had much of a breakfast this morning, still unsure about actually using the things in his kitchen after that fire...]
Y-you would really just go talk to someone... and say that?
[He asked trying to cover up his embarrassment over the noise his stomach had made.]
[Luke looked at the food again, his stomach insistent that it was empty and that sandwich would do well to fill it. One factor was it would be hard for the food to have anything wrong with it, after this person had already had a bit himself.]
If... you mean it... I wouldn't be opposed to it.
[So long as he hadn't asked for it he wouldn't feel like one of those poor beggar children he had seen... even scoffed at once. That is what Luke told himself to keep some of his dignity in place.]
Of course I mean it. You have to eat, you know. [ he'll just hold it out until it's taken, and then he'll brush his hands together to get rid of the crumbs.]
Nice to meet you. [ Hikaru would hold out his hand but since they just passed a sandwich, he figures that's good enough. He opens up his bag instead, searching it for further contents. ]
That's a pretty fancy name. My family name's Taira and I used to think that was different.
[Luke swallowed the bite he had taken and gave a barely there smile to the man.] Nice to meet you too.
I suppose since I've lived with it my whole life that it doesn't seem anything special... but it guess it would be fancy, considering my father is Duke Fon Fabre. I like your family name, it simple but nice.

Yeah? Anything good?

Not really, just people... hanging out.
[He sounds a little dejected at the very end.]

I'm Hikaru. How about you?

I am Luke...
[He paused, it was off for him any more, it seemed less and less like he should use his full name, but he had for so many years.]
Fon Fabre.
[Tentatively he took a small bite of the sandwich, actually enjoying the taste more than he thought he would.
