( it's not her first time attending training but it is the first time she's ventured to try the whole partnership thing. Actually...how does she even go about it. She's just rocking on her heels after she finished warming up, waiting to see what happens. )

[Noa arrives at the Partnership exercise, not assigned to any one Meister in particular. He looks around, sees a young woman not too far away, and approaches her.]

Hello. Are you waiting for someone for this exercise?

Good morning~ ( she smiles brightly at his approach, her sunniest smile and all. a good impression is important for this...thing, she's sure. )

I am! I mean...I'm not really sure what exactly I'm supposed to do but I'm trying to learn!

[Tips his head and offers a reassuring smile.] Don't worry. We're all new to this at first. [Shrugs.] I've only started trying out partnerships recently myself.

[Extends a hand.] My name is Noa. It's nice to meet you.

Yep, that's what I figured!

( ...blinks at that hand. what is that gesture? blinkblink. )

I'm Xiao Qiao, it's nice to meet you too, Master Noa. ( she takes his hand in both of hers...though not to shake. she kinda...turns it around? is there something in your hand? :|a )

[Sheepishly.] Please, just Noa is fine.

[His expression turns into confusion as Xiao Qiao messes with his hand. Doesn't mean to be rude, but...] I'm sorry, what are you doing?

Well~ ( it's kind of intimate and really informal. but whatever. )

Okay, if that's what you'd prefer. Hm?

( she lets his hand drop. ) Are you holding something I can't see?

There's no need to be so formal with me.

[Watches his hand fall. Then he gets it.] No, it's a greeting gesture. When people meet for the first time and introduce themselves, they shake each other's hands. Here, do what I do. [Holds his hand out again.]

Noa then, okay~

Oooh, we didn't greet people like that where I come from. Like this? ( she holds her hand out the way he does. )

That's right. Then we hold each other's hands and shake like this. [Takes her hand, firmly but not squeezing it red or anything, and shakes it up and down.] There, it's easy. [Smiles at her again.]

Shake, shake~? ( it's...weird. but interesting! she's not someone that really minds touching anyways so the handshake isn't bad. she grins at him. )

And where I come from we bow! Like this~ ( she presses one hand in a fist agaisnt her open palm and bows. )

Though~ I guess that was kind of a manly bow for a girl, but you'd do it that way!

[Watches, then mimics her motions.] I see. How would you do it then? [Genuinely curious. It's neat to be learning about another culture's customs.]

Whenever you're ready, I can show you my Weapon form if you like.

Hm...more like this. ( it's a subtle difference, hands still faintly raised but fingers just touching slightly, no fist. she lowers her eyes and bows slightly.

...and then she bounces back up. )

[Smiles and bows the way she taught him as she demonstrates hers.] There. We're properly acquainted now.

[Nods, then steps back.] All right. [Closes his eyes, lowers his head, and concentrates. In a few moments, there's a quick flash, and in his place a chakram -- a ring with its outer edge sharpened into a blade -- appears.] Well, what do you think?

( that earns him a delighted little giggle. ) That's true, isn't it?

( it's going to take her a while to get used to that, people just popping into something totally different. but~ she is glad that his form is something she's familiar with and with no buttons. )

Like wind and fire wheels, but smaller. Um~ should I try to pick you up?
