Description: Despite her efforts to avoid him, Rhode's past finally catches up to her.
If Rhode had to choose one thing she appreciated most about her new job at the café, it would most definitely be the easy hours. She had late mornings and early evenings (by her standards), and barely enough time actually doing anything to make it feel like real work at all. With so little effort, she found it rather surprising that they were still willing to let her take a few extra pastries home at the end of the shift-- Especially after the trays she’d managed to drop on her first day.
Rhode was on her way to her third day this morning, pausing in front of a store’s window as she noticed a few things out of place with her uniform. Brushing down a bit of hair in the back, and smoothing the front of her skirt, she took a few moments to appreciate how nice she managed to look in the monochrome getup. People in this world apparently had no idea how maids really dressed in her time; that, or they simply dressed their maids up rather well-made and very cute attire.
Rocking back on her heels (and smoothing down her hair again, as if it would stay in place any better the fifth time), she smiled at her reflection with a content little noise. She could tell that today was going to be a lovely day. Chrome was gone, and though Mukuro didn’t seem terribly affected by the entire situation, Rhode was almost certain he was faking. Perhaps she’d even buy her Meister a treat on the way home as a little token of her affection.
She stepped away from the window and started wandering in the general direction of the café again, preoccupied with ideas of what sort of present could possibly be suitable for cheering up her partner. Despite her caution since Nea’s arrival, the fact that she was on a relatively main street in broad daylight made her feel rather certain that she would be left alone.
