Rikku came in, grinning and carrying a huge cup of something from DeathBucks that had tea, lemonade, ice, and passionfruit flavoring in the mix, which she set down by Yunie. She had her own drink in the other hand, and a bag of...something hanging from her uninjured arm.

"Ta-da! In case you get bored waiting to be better, I found a bookstore selling--eeee! Y geddo!" Rikku knelt, looking at the kitten. "He's adorable!"

Rikku had said that she'd stop by and keep her company, so she wasn't all that shocked when her cousin let herself in, pushing open the door carrying a couple of drinks and a bag dangling from one arm. A smile quickly lit up Yuna's face at the sight, and she pushed herself up to sit as the blonde crouched beside the couch with an excited cry.

"Isn't he?" she agreed, her fingers running along the soft fur on the top of his head. The kitten's ears twitched at the loud noise, but sat rather calmly for now, it's tail running back and forth across the blanket that covered Yuna's lap. "Vergil surprised me with him today."

Rikku murmured to the kitten in Al Bhed for a moment, petting him gently. "So Vergil's a cat person?" she asked, looking up. "I thought he'd be more into dogs."

"You think so?" Yuna looked thoughtful for a moment before she gently shook her head. "I'm not sure. Dogs need attention all the time, right? And they're more dependent? I can't imagine him wanting to deal with that too much. Cats can at least take care of themselves for the most part, and we are pretty busy..."

Having never had either herself, this was all just guessing, but it made sense in her head.

She chuckled softly to herself, then. "Though, to be honest, I'm not sure he's a 'pet' person at all. I think this was mostly for my benefit."

That made the blonde grin, and as she flopped back on her butt at Yuna's feet, she nudged her cousin. "He likes you~ When a boy gets you cute animals, he likes you a lot!"

Yuna laughed a little self-consciously, shaking her head softly. "I think we've established that yes, he might like me. But that doesn't mean..."

She sighed, then. It wasn't something she could entirely brush off anymore, was it? Talking to Roy had made it obvious that Vergil cared about her enough to worry, and it was quickly becoming clear that he was far more worried than she'd first thought. They way he'd come out to check on her. The way he'd refused to let her work around the house. The way he'd been reluctant to leave for work.

"...I'm not sure what to do about it," she amended, her cheeks pink.

"Telling him would be a good start," Rikku said, giggling. "Or just kiss him. Either way, he should know that you care about him, too, and want to be closer!" She reached up to pet the kitten again. "So, what's his name?"

"I still think he already knows," she said softly, glancing toward the front door, as if he would walk through it at any moment, even though she knew he wouldn't be back for several hours. "Maybe this is his way of showing that, in his own way. He's not...like most people."

Yuna looked back over at Rikku. "But I'll try, okay?"

She glanced down at the kitten, running her fingers along its spine until it laid back down on the blanket. "We haven't decided yet."

"Name him Geddo!"

The Al Bhed were many things. Creative was not one of them.

Yuna laughed, then shook her head softly. "I'm not naming him 'Kitty,' Rikku." She reached out and patted her cousin lightly on the head with her good hand.

"I think we're going to wait and see what his personality is like, first."

"Hey, it's a totally good name!" She giggled. "Okay, it's not, but you know how lousy we are at naming things. I mean, my brother's name is Brother, for sand's sake!" She poked the kitten's nose, making him sneeze. "...Oh, maybe Bibbo?"

"I'm not much better with names," she said honestly. "I'm sure something will come to us after we spend time with him."

Yuna watched as the kitten curled up into a ball to lay down on the blanket. It was so little, and it slept a lot. She couldn't help but grin at it.
