Best day ever? Probably. If not that, it was at least the most relieving day in a long time. Waking up to find that post by Jade had been wonderful and calming and it'd knocked away all of the worry and guilt he'd been feeling. Even by most peoples standards, he'd been woefully uncool and uncalm the best few days, ready to snap on anyone.
That didn't matter so much anymore. After Jade had returned, they'd had a quick reunion at her apartment where Dave had hugged her for the first time. It'd felt nice and he wasn't quite sure what to make out of that yet. All things considered, it must have been a really good hug because they had clung together for quite some time. And then he'd gone with her to do some miscellaneous stuff around Death City - it was mostly useless junk like grocery shopping that she could do on her own, but he'd asked almost at the same time she'd requested. Neither of them wanted to let the other out of sight - not now, not ever. There was still some worry there, probably, on his end, that would disappear like a dream It wasn't likely however.
And so soon, they'd made their way back to his place where Dave had shown off his culinary prowess wit frozen meals. He didn't mind them. He hoped Jade didn't. It didn't take long to make them or eat them, so they were finished quickly and now just chilling in his living room. Dave was content to chill for the rest of the night with Jade and he assumed she wanted the same thing.
"So, sup, did you wanna just chill for the rest of the night? I'm pretty sure I've got some spare shit in the closet if you need it."
Dave might not usually host these things, but he was prepared for them, just in case.
