[ Kurt is wandering around, head held high and expression mostly impassive. There are a lot of people here - and he's nearly sure that none of them are going to approach him over the other more qualified Meisters, but it's worth showing up anyway. At least he can approach others, assuming the Weapons he approaches don't run away at the first sight of Kurt to hide behind bulkier, more experienced Meister friends.

Whatever, though. If nothing else he'll make himself available and visible (and it's impossible not to be visible, considering what he's wearing). ]

[Ash glanced around the open area, sipping at the drink he'd grabbed while trying to find a meister to talk to. He was nervous, and trying very hard to hide it; but...he'd been here so long and still he couldn't find a partner.

Or well...an available partner.

Clenching his hand he walked up to the other boy, Kurt...alright.]

Hey, Kurt. My name's Ash! *big grin*

[ Blinking - how does this kid know his name? ...oh, right. The nametags. He looks down at his, before looking back up again and forces a smile because ugh, the nametag is ruining his entire ensemble. ]

Hello, nice to meet you. [ He extends out a hand to shake. ]

[But name tags are so handy! Have a firm handshake in return, Kurt before Ash tilts his head a little.]

Have ya found anyone yet?

[ He shrugs. ] Yes and no. I resonated for the first time, and found out my Meister ability a while ago. I'm not sure if Shizuo and I would work well as partners, but it's a relatively good start to the day. What about you?

I had a partner a while ago. [Tone is pretty much don't ask on that.] And I resonated with a friend a few weeks ago but besides that...nothing else.

[Curious head tilt.]

Did the resonating not work real well?

Oh. [ Yeah... he won't ask. Not now, at least. ]

It was all right. It went better than we both expected, really - he was just really heavy. He turns into a big stop sign, of all things, and I could only really lift him if I sang. That's my ability - if I sing while resonating, I'm stronger. [ Have a self-satisfied smile, he's ridiculously proud of himself. ]

Ash though is going to lock onto that singing thing because now that he's looking...he recognizes Kurt from the network.]

Oh! Hey I recognize you now! I've heard you singin' on the network.

[ He stands a little straighter - another fan, perhaps? ] That's right, that sneak preview performance of 'Waking up in DC'?

[Ash loved any kind of music; so go ahead and count him a fan, Kurt.]

Yeah, that's the one! It's been a while since anyone's sung on the network.

Well, you can expect it from me fairly often. Most people seem to appreciate it, and I enjoy it, so why not?

So are you interested in trying to resonate?

[He hesitates for half a second before he nods. This had to be done; he had to prove to himself that nothing had really changed.]

Heh, just so you know. My weapon form's kinda weird.

[ Raising an eyebrow ] Weirder than a stop sign?

[Er...okay, you got him there.]

Heh, right. Nevermind.

[He straightens up before closing his eyes. It was still easy to transform, which he was glad of, and in seconds there was a black jeweled glove on the ground where Ash had been.

His face appears in the blue jewel, grinning up at Kurt.]

I don't wanna hurt you so, let's try it this way alright?

[Because if they weren't able to resonate, Ash appearing directly on Kurt's hand would have been painful.]

[ Watching this transformation isn't too different from watching Shizuo's. At least this time, physical strength won't be much of an issue. It's just a matter of not getting burned. He wonders what on earth a glove can do, exactly, in a fight. If they resonate well enough, maybe he'll ask. ]

Right... I'd rather burn the tips of my fingers as opposed to the whole hand... [ He kneels down somewhat nervously and touches three fingers - which is actually incredibly stupid, in hindsight, because one would have been enough to get the electric shock. It's actually quite disappointing, once he gets over the discomfort. Hopefully he has some burn salve waiting somewhere at home... ]

[The second he feels the resonation fail, Ash changes back. Wincing as he plops on the ground and looks up at Kurt.]
