I-incredibly late! T_T karmafree January 23 2011, 06:12:35 UTC
Mukuro arrived rather promptly, which might have been a surprise to some - whether he turned up at all at somebody's request was always questionable, and the time of his arrival was determined by just how bored he was, or how interested he was in his current friend of the moment.

A knock on the door, then:

"I'm here."

Adah would have waited forever; she knew that people tended to take their own time, and she was fully guilty of doing the same thing. Putting her book down and limping over to the door, she opened it for her friend.

"Hello. How was the walk?"

"Not particularly interesting, I'm afraid."

Mukuro positively beamed at the girl before walking right in. The Meister took a moment to study his surroundings with interest.

"You are home alone?"

"Yes. Minato goes to work in the afternoon, but my work is in the morning." She paused. "And then the clinic."

The apartment looked well lived-in, with books surrounding everything. Adah had expanded on her collection, thanks to Minato and his generosity. He had even bought her bookcases, which stood in the living room, neatly organized and arranged to Adah's liking.

The books, of course, caught Mukuro's attention. The Meister sauntered about, occasionally picking a book up at random and flipping through it before losing interest and moving on.

"That sounds convenient enough."

He eventually settled down on the nearest, most comfortable-looking seat, as if he owned the place.

"So. The sketches."

She sat down next to him, pulling a book across the coffee table and opening it up. Inside were several detailed sketches, both from pictures that she'd seen and speculation.

"There are trolls here now. Did you know that?"

And those, Mukuro studied thoroughly, partially admiring Adah's work, mostly committing himself to the details before him.

"Trolls? What sort?"

He wondered if they were trolls familiar to the kind he knew about, or something entirely different.

"Actual trolls, apparently not from Earth. At least, that is what I assume."

She pointed to the pictures, most of them of Karkat. Though she tried to stalk all of their posts and catch a glimpse of the others.

"They have horns, and their skin is gray."

"Intriguing..."

They were ugly little things, weren't they? Not that it bothered Mukuro much.

"Have you made friends with any of them?"

"Just one." She pointed to a picture of Karkat, whose face in the sketch looked like the epitome of boredom. "He has told me about troll romance. It seems much more logical than human affections. I think I would like to become a troll."

That explained why she had so many sketches of him, at least. It made perfect sense: the one she had the most contact with, or was most fascinated by, was the one she had the most data on.

"Logical? How so?"

"It's based on both hate and pity, unlike humans, who have no clear-cut concept of what they need in a mate."

Adah thought that Karkat was rather interesting; if she had to admit it, she would say that she had a bit of a crush on the troll she had met only once. The concept of dual relationships fascinated her almost as much as the trolls themselves.

That made Mukuro chuckle. "I rather like the fact that human beings do not actually know what they want, though," he said. "It makes watching them flounder about all the more interesting."

"I don't think they have any indication, either. And they have three times the number of spaces to fill."

She pulled out the chart she had drawn off of Karkat's example, putting it down in front of them.

"I do not have any of them filled." Despite the face that Adah didn't really care, it was fun to speculate.

"And what is this chart for?"

Mukuro eyed it with casual disinterest.

"It's their romance." She gave him a look.

"So who is the person you love? In a non-platonic fashion."
