Characters: ih8spiders, couragemantra Location: Casualty Communal Unit 9I Rating: PG...? Time: backdated to October 10 evening Description: Time to return the stuff he stole, of course.
Kurt had just started on the last phase of his nightly skin-care ritual, which had become increasingly important as of late with all the training sessions and especially with the stress of having the most important thing he owned stolen (or borrowed, same thing). He swore he was getting lines on his forehead from all his angry glaring, and that wasn't even mentioning the state of his poor pores
( ... )
Well. Fair enough. Of course the boy was going to be jumpier about getting late-night visitors. Kurapika briefly considered stating his business and just... leaving the phone on the floor beside the door and hightailing it out of there, but that wouldn't be nice.
The blond cleared his throat. "I'm... Kurapika. From the eleventh floor. I'm here to return your iPhone."
Okay. On one hand, he didn't know anybody by that name. On the other hand, this guy was going to give him back his iPhone. That wasn't even mentioning all the other hands - that he'd taken it without permission once to begin with, that Kurt still had a frying pan and a burning need to hit something with it after the stress of the day...
He decided to focus on the positive, at least at first. His phone was going to be returned. After a deep breath, and a quick look through the peephole of the door to make sure Kurapika wasn't carrying anything that looked like it could be a weapon, he unlatched the locks of his door and inched it open slowly.
He stood, glaring, frying pan at the ready. "Oh are you." It wasn't a question. More like a challenge.
He did say that he was just borrowing it, didn't he? But maybe that hadn't been the best way to go about it. Dude on the other side of the door sounded pissed, and as the door unlocked and slowly inched open, and Kurapika saw the outline of something round and vaguely pan-shaped, he had to suppress an urge to rear back--Norma had been unforgiving with her frying pan partner, and he had no urge to be attacked with a similar object so soon after the experience.
All right, he did take an alarmed step back. A small one. And he raised the towel-wrapped bundle so Kurt could see it clearly.
