He had passed the area before, actually, on his many trips to and from the clinic. This was, however, the first time that he actually saw someone working on it. He didn't recognize the girl (not too many people were familiar to him in this strange place), but perhaps it did not matter. It was clear, from the way she moved and worked, that she knew exactly what she was doing.

Koujurou announced his presence immediately, not wanting to startle her.

"Good morning."

At the sound of the stranger's voice, Aerith turned her head a bit before she moved to stand up, sweeping her forearm across her brow to wipe away a few drops of sweat that had beaded there. Even if it looked simple, weeding was hard work, especially when it was warm outside. It sure felt good, though.

"Good morning to you, too," she replied in turn, smiling at her visitor as she brushed herself off a bit.

And the man is bowing, the moment the girl's attention is on him.

"I am Koujurou Katakura, of the Oshu Clan. My life and blade are sworn to Masamune Date, and I have been told that I am a Weapon in this place."

He straightened up, regarding his company politely.

Aerith took a couple of quick steps over towards him, an amused grin on her face as he bowed deeply. So formal~

"It's nice to meet you Koujurou," she replied casually. Clearly, she would need to get this one to loosen up a bit. "My name is Aerith. I'm a Weapon, too." Never mind that she'd hadn't tried to transform yet. She was getting there, eventually.

She took a moment to observe him before she spoke again. "How are you doing today? Did you come by to spend time with the flowers?"

His shift had ended some time ago, but it was still early in the morning by the time Greed wandered back to the Communal. He'd never taken much note of the garden behind the building, though today he happened to approach the apartments from the back. That there was someone there caught him off-guard. He stopped walking a moment and blinked. It wasn't all that odd a sight, he supposed, but he hadn't really thought about the fact that anyone actually tended the garden. He would pass by her anyway, so why not? He curiously made his way over.

"What are you doing?"

Aerith smiled as she glanced over her shoulder at her visitor. She didn't recognize him, but anyone who came to appreciate the flowers was a friend in her book.

"Weeding," she said quickly before glancing down at her hands, her fingers in the process of pulling one out of the ground. "I'm sorry, I'll be just a moment."

He stood next to her and leaned over at the waist with his hands in his pockets, taking a closer look at the weeds she was tugging out. Out of the many things he'd done in his long life, gardening was not one he had ever even considered. He wasn't sure why he was spending any time on something like this now... well, that was just it, wasn't it. All he had here was time.

"Huh. How do you know which ones are the weeds?"

Her delicate fingers had found another one of the pesky things, and she used it as a demonstrative tool as he leaned over her to watch her work.

"Let's see, they grow a lot quicker than the other plants," she informed him, her hands deftly pulling the weed out from the roots. She held it up for his to see. "They don't usually bloom, and they have different leaves, like this." She pointed, glancing up at him to see if he understood at all.

Yuuri was on his way over to his lesson with Mifune. It was still a little early for the lesson, but he liked to be there early. Things had been going well with that, but he wondered if he'd be able to learn enough before the next battle. He knew, though, that there was still a lot that he needed to learn.

Cutting through the area behind the Communal, Yuuri began making by the garden. He paused, however, at the sight of the woman tending to the garden. Yuuri blinked at the sight before his eyes widened. He'd never seen her before, but she was pretty!

Shaking his head of the thoughts, Yuuri continued on his way with a smile. "Good morning," he cheerfully called out as he approached. Yuuri had no intention of keeping her from her work, but he wanted to say hello at the very least.

Aerith had just finished ridding the first vegetable plot of weeds and was moving over to the second when the younger boy approached. She waved back at him with a bright smile in response to his call. "Good morning to you, too!"

Another person she hadn't met yet. Today might just be a good day to make friends. Still, she had a lot of work to do today, and she moved to the second plot while motioning him over. "You're welcome to join me if you'd like."

He had every intention of continuing on his way, so as not to disturb her, but paused at her words. Yuuri had wanted to drop into his room briefly before meeting up with Mifune, but he wasn't about to ignore such a nice invitation.

"Sure!" Yuuri said before walking over to crouch down next to the pretty girl. It looked as though she'd been working really hard, if all of those pulled weeds are an example. Just looking at them reminded him of the flower garden Cheri had at the castle, and his expression softened at the thought, "You're the one that looks after these flowers?"

As Aerith pulled each weed out of the ground by the roots, she placed them aside in a nearby basket before reaching out and smoother out the disturbed earth with her palm, almost like a caress.

"That's me," she said, looking over at him with bright eyes and a matching smile. "Cloud took care of them while I was gone, though."

"I'm Aerith," she said, introducing herself.

Jade had been wandering around, looking for more things to do. Work was fun -- she loved serving people coffee, however odd that seemed -- but she needed something else to pass the time. There was only so much time you could spend in your room.

So she had been going wherever she wanted, until she spotted a patch of green. A garden? She practically ran to it. As much as Jade enjoyed Death City, the one thing she really missed about home was her atrium, filled with vegetables and flowers.

"Oh, it's so beautiful!"

Aerith glanced up as she heard the sound of quick footsteps heading over. More visitors made only made her happier. Perhaps this place had been more popular than they'd imagined. It was hard to believe; her church hadn't been frequented often, though she'd mostly kept that place a secret.

"Oh, thank you," she said. "You like gardens?"

Jade had never been here before, but it was the most beautiful thing she had seen so far. It reminded her a lot of home.

"I love gardens! I had a really big one at home, but..." she trailed off. But it couldn't come with her. Of course it couldn't.

Aerith smiled brightly. "I'm glad to hear it! I hadn't gotten many visitors since I arrived, and I was hoping others would be able to enjoy it." She didn't think that many would like working with plants the way she did, but that didn't bother her in the slightest.

"Did you?" she asked, looking quite interested. "You are more than welcome to make your own beside mine, if you want. We can take care of them together."

"I'm Aerith, by the way."

Souji was still getting himself familiarized with things in Death City. He'd managed to secure himself a job, and while he hadn't started yet, he wanted to get to know the place, which meant a lot of exploring. It wasn't a bad thing--he liked taking walks--and the exercise was good, even if the weather here was a little warmer than he would have cared for.

He was on his way back to his room when he caught sight of the garden. At first, he didn't realize anyone was there, he was just drawn to something that had that little air of 'home' about it. It wasn't like the gardens back in Kyoto, but it was enough to make him smile.

And then he caught sight of the young woman working in what looked like a vegetable patch. He walked over, smiling, hands clasped behind his back as he looked over the work she was doing.

"Hello. Do you take care of this whole garden?" If she did, he was impressed. It was very nice work.

Aerith was nearly done tending to the center plot, the area finally looking clean and weed-free again. She was carefully watering each plant, making sure not to give them too much or too little.

She looked up at the stranger with a happy smile as she brushed hair out of her green eyes. "I sure do," she said proudly, nodding once. "A friend of mine looked after it for awhile, but now that I'm back it's time to spruce it up."

"It looks very nice," he replied, looking around at the garden again. "I didn't really expect to see any gardens around here." There was just so much stone and metal in this place, so very different from home. It was nice to have found a little bit of nature to admire.

"Ah, I'm Okita Souji," he added with a slight bow, remembering his manners. "I hope I haven't bothered you too much." He knew his curiosity could be a little annoying to others, occasionally.

"That's the perfect reason to have one," she said in response, grinning brightly. "I though the city could use a little bit of life to balance the rest." Or at least, that's what she thought now. She was pretty sure her previous self would have thought the same.

"I'm Aerith," she said. "Aerith Gainsborough. It's a pleasure to meet you Souji." Aerith seems surprised by his remark, though she quickly chuckles and shakes her head. "Oh, not at all. I love visitors."
