[Vergil's expression remains neutral even as the nuances of Neji's manner occurs to him. By all means, the other Meister isn't obligated to accept his advice - it was up to him regarding what sacrifices he was willing make in order to grow stronger - and so long as he performed his job reliably, it didn't make a difference one way or another. Far more important, though, was the outcome of this spar.]

[Defensive stance, open palm? Promising. It displayed distinct signs of being an internal style, which was of particular interest to Vergil. Of course, how refined it was remained to be seen. He balances down into a more fluid posture , easing both fists before him, left at full extension with the right aligned a short distance behind it.]

Alright. Let's go. [Without a further pause, he began bridging the distance between them, weaving to enter on an angle rather than throw his momentum directly forward into Neji's defense. His approach was cautious and he carefully measured their respective reach before flashing out a fast left straight for the centerline, his right fist moving forward with it simultaneously in order to be prepared to react quickly for either a quick counter or successive attack.]

[Eyes narrow, a focused concentration as his right forearm connects with Vergil's left wrist, redirecting the punch harmlessly away from his centre. His left hand comes down, easing over Vergil's right fist and directing it downward while his leg comes up, aiming for a direct, blunt kick to his open abdomen]

[ooc: Fighting tags can be difficult to write with others, so feel free to anticipate some of Neji's movements in order to make tags easier. I find that writing can become very stunted and drawn out otherwise, moving one punch at a time. If you need a reference, Neji's style is based on Baguazhang, and it's these adaptations I'm applying in order to make up for his lack of chakra]

[The initial deflection of his punch had come as expected, but Vergil was momentarily surprised to find the uncommitted fist poised behind the first having also been seized and directed, completely dissolving his guard near-effortlessly. Even if defensive movements initially followed the attacker's rhythm, Neji's maneuver demonstrated a speed slightly faster than this.

His own leg rose to block the kick, but he was quickly abused of the notion of a slight difference in speed as the attack skimmed over his late-rising knee and caught him squarely in the stomach. He exhaled raggedly and stumbled backward under the force of the blow, barely managing to keep his feet.]

[He doesn't reassume his guard or stance, instead pausing, catching his breath, and then:] That... isn't regular human speed. [Or strength, judging by the kick. His eyes are studious.] And you're more skilled with an internal style than I am. [The implied question was "How?"]

[OOC: Not necessary! Naruto cast are generally more physically powerful in SC, so there was never really a risk of protracted fighting. I usually coordinate ahead of time if I'm fight-logging with somebody for the first time, but my main intention here is for Vergil to get his ass whooped and ask questions. And maybe try another round or two experimentally.]

[He watches Vergil stumble and meets his stare unblinkingly, detecting the mild disbelief and question with a considerate tilt of his head]

Observant from such a short exchange. [But he sounds amused by that and nods] People from my world are trained from a very young age, develop natural abilities to a heightened state using chakra. We're absent of that power here, but our physical prowess remains.

As for my particular style, it's an advanced type of taijutsu- or martial arts. It's taught and handed down to compliment the natural abilities of those born into my clan with these eyes.

[OOC: Ah alright, that works! Neji will be happy to tl;dr about his style and things haha. How interesting that Vergil is/was looking for someone proficient with an internal style :>]

[There's a lengthy pause while Vergil considers and processes Neji's words. Realistically, they weren't too different in terms of experience - he had been fighting for his life since he was a child - but he hadn't had the benefit of proper training for full duration of that time. Only fundamentals, and the rest was self-taught.]

Reading is something of a specialty. [He doesn't elaborate further - the explanation raised far too many questions to be overly concerned with speaking of himself right this moment. Where to start...]

I've heard of the concept of chakra, but I suspect it may have differing nuances between the version that exists in my world and yours. What is it, exactly? [Also...] Is there a particular significance to your eyes?

I see. [The topic at hand is a surprising one, and he wonders if there are other ways to utilize chakra than how they were taught in their world]

Chakra is a tangible sort of energy in our world. It runs through a system similar to the blood circulatory system, though more complex and nearly impossible to repair. Coils wind through the body between cells and wrap around internal organs and this allows shinobi to utilize a wide variety of special techniques through molding their chakra and releasing it.

[And for his other question...]

The chakra circulatory network can't be seen by normal eyes- much like anything existing underneath the skin- and my unadapted style aims to close individual points called tenketsu in this network in order to render another shinobi's techniques useless. It's a style unique to the Hyuuga Clan and made possible because we're the only ones gifted with the ability to see the internal chakra system through our enhanced optical technique.

Of course, without the chakra necessary to use it at the moment, these eyes only see as well as anyone else's.
