[Chrome has been diligently turning up every day the training sessions have been offered and this day is no exception. At the moment she is standing quietly on the sidelines, waiting for today's session to begin.]

[Noa is just making his way into the training grounds when he notices a vaguely familiar someone waiting in the sidelines. After walking closer, he realizes...] Chrome, was it? It's nice to see you out here.

[Surprised, she looks towards the familiar voice. Where... oh, yes! She remembers him rather well.]

Mm. It is nice to see you here as well, Noah. How have you been?

I've been all right, despite everything that has happened. Those attacks were quite the scare.

[Tilts his head.] How have you been doing?

I'm glad. They... they were... Is it known if anyone died...?

[She pauses and considers his question carefully.]

I have... been well. I have been settling in at what I believe is an appropriate rate and I survived both attacks with minimal injury.

[His eyes drop when she asks about the casualties.] I'm not sure, though I know some have been injured like Spirit. [If the witches were able to attack a top-level Weapon, who knew what else they were capable of?

Offers her a small smile.] That's good. There's a lot to get used to here. The rash of attacks recently doesn't make it easy, either.

Mm. Would... Shibusen eventually tell us if there had been?

...The most difficult aspect of this world to get used to has perhaps been that, so many things are similar. It has lead to assumptions that other things will be as well, and... well, they haven't.

[The girl's rosy cheeks darken into a blush.]

[Looks up to the side.] It might be difficult for them to, but I would think they would. Everyone knows we're at war. Death is an unfortunate part of that.

[Wrinkles crease his forehead.] Similar? [This sounds a lot like that branching, alternate worlds question Joshua asked the network some time back. Shakes his head.] I can't say I really understand your situation, but even if some factors here are similar to how they were in your world, you still have the power to make your own decisions and carve a different path.

Is your world very different from this one...?

Yes, not to mention news of it would be disclosed in one way or another eventually. Hiding it from the public would be like betraying the people's trust, in a way.

[Closes his eyes to think back.] My hometown Calm is a lot like Death City in terms of technology, but it's not as bright and nice as it is here. The climate is always dark and stifling.

Think of being here as a second chance. Whatever mistakes you made back home, you can put them away and start fresh. [A wry smile.] It's a outlook I'm still trying to follow myself.

I... I am sorry that your world possess such an atmosphere. Maybe things will have changed for the better when you return home...? ...I wish for your success here, regardless.

[There's a pause as Chrome considers some things. And then quietly, more to herself:]

...Back home, the life I was leading was a second chance. Is this... a sign that I could be doing things better?

[Shakes his head.] It's nothing to apologize for. There wasn't any way you could know what it was like. Besides, I shifted from there to Neotopia some time ago. Things were much better for me there. The air was cleaner to breathe, and I was able to grow strong within the government's ranks. [In a lower voice.] My fortune there was short-lived, though. [Eyes roll up.] I guess, really, this is my third chance.

[Shrugs.] I don't know. Maybe in the end, it's not about having more chances, but about making the best of whatever situation stands before you.

All sorts of people have probably had other chances at life. Having the same number of them with you is certainly quite the coincidence. [Joke or not, he can see some understated humor in it.

Tilts his head and smiles.] Of course you can, or you wouldn't be coming to these sessions everyday. It's not easy for everyone, after all.

[She lowers her gaze to her hands.]

I want... in order to repay the one who saved me and the one who put his faith in me, I want to become stronger. I want to become strong enough to help protect the people of this city. I can learn that, here.
