Characters: Zack Fair 1st_class_honor and Cloud Strife de_faulty_hero
Location: Lobby of the Casualty Communal
Rating: PG
Time: September 22, midday
Description: Zack and Cloud meet up and discuss, well, things.

At least one thing was normal in this crazy place: Zack was going off to meet Cloud. Deconstructed, taken at its core base, that statement was something Zack could relate to, could find a lot of comfort in. Point A to Point B, and the stars aligned into something familiar.

Of course, if one started to pick it apart and look at all the various pieces of it (this Cloud was distinctly older, wasn’t in a Mako coma, was different, had killed Sephiroth multiple times, was the leader of AVALANCHE, wasn’t even on the same planet), then the comfort started to fade, the threads of that ideal habit gone. It got to be….big.

Not that it really mattered; underneath, Cloud was still Cloud, had to be. Still looked like Cloud. Talked like Cloud, though a little more cocky, sure of himself. A little more grown up.

It was nice.

Granted, he wasn’t too sure on how he felt about this place as a whole, anyway; sure, everyone said it was real, but he still wasn’t a hundred percent sold on the entire concept. Maybe the Cloud here was just his mental projections and worries of what would happen after he died? Wouldn’t that explain on Sephiroth’s repeating pattern (Sephiroth? Here?! Really?) and Genesis’ smartass. Or how he was still walking around after being filled up with more lead than a X-ray vest.

Zack had told Cloud that he’d be down in the lobby in ten minutes; it worked out more like twenty by the time he found the place and stopped open-mouth staring at everything around him (either this had to be real or he was completely underestimating his imagination all these years). One gloved hand rubbed at the back of his head, his other hand picking at the holey shirt, and he scanned the area for his friend. Hopefully, he hadn’t given up waiting and go back up to his place.

Not that it would’ve mattered; Zack would’ve just tracked him down anyway. After all, one didn’t hang out with Kunself for as long as he did and not pick up a few things.
