He had opened his mouth to voice a protest when he suddenly detected the sound of movement close behind him, somewhere in the murky darkness of the rain-tossed sand and dust. Acting swiftly, he yanked his right arm across to rip his blade clean from the back of the stationary motorcycle, before arcing the chain above his head to send it whizzing backward and out of sight. A shrill, unearthly cry of pain answered in return, but it had not been a killing stroke; merely a cautionary warning that the approaching creature's prey were not harmless.
The chain retracted and the weapon dematerialized in a quick flash of light, before a new one jutted from his arm, this one larger and broader. He turned his back to the Guests and retreated towards them, watching for oncoming enemies whilst moving close to shield the youngest boy.
"Justin Law, Death Scythe. Weapon," he introduced himself, adding for clarification as it seemed the others with him weren't particularly bright, "Sound off, and prepare yourselves."

Kishin.
And without Genesis with him, this seriously bode bad news.
The Meister glanced back towards the now-introduced Death Scythe (what was it again?), blinking once before he frowned. "That's nice to know and all, but the Weapon I'm working with currently isn't here with me." And he knew Nataku had his own Meister which meant that working with him wasn't a good idea either, which just left with Dante, who he had been eyeing as his eventual Weapon anyway...
Date glanced towards him at that, voice pointed as he went quite bluntly. "Hey, red one. Turn into your Weapon form now, will you?"

Even with the potential threat to their lives, Dante still found the time to reply. "Weapon form? What are you on?" The knowledge that he was missing something very important didn't help his temper.
All they had to do was beat up some monsters and Date was blabbering about some other stuff. He could still do this without his weapons.

Oh. Nataku did his best to lift his head up just a little so that he could see what was happening, before becoming tired and resting it once more in the mud. Turning his head on the side so that he would not suffocate, he did turn it in the direction of where the screams were coming from. That noise. The energy and strength to actually get up had still not returned to him, but at the very least he would at least know what was coming.
The screaming had continued as he caught sight of one of the Kishin eggs running toward them. Vaguely humanoid, but far larger and fingers extended into claws. He looked beyond it to see that another was running toward them as well. The one that seemed to be injured by Justin Law initially, but still dragging -- rushing -- toward the group all the same. "These things do not seem to have much sense of preservation, or they had been starved for too long."
A dull, tired commentary from Nataku as he watched the first one leap toward them.

"Red one, if you are a Weapon, I would suggest that you change shape for combat immediately," the Death Scythe called out hastily, all pretense of calm now dropped. He saw the two Kishin Eggs charging towards them; they weren't a problem, but the others that would soon follow would be. If they couldn't take control of the situation or at least buy some time, they'd be surrounded and he would not be able to protect everybody at once.
Stepping forward and taking a deep stance, Justin's arms briefly crossed until the blade on his right arm began to shine radiantly-
✟"Cruciform Sword-Hand!"✟
The guillotine blade pulsed with silver energy and sliced outward, moving faster than the eye could follow to carve two broad slashes in a blazing cross, leaving luminous after-images hanging in their wake. The Kishin Egg was vaporized in mid-air, leaving nothing but a floating red soul. The other, injured creature halted momentarily in its tracks as it was given pause by the overwhelming power behind the attack.
Even as Justin completed the move, though, more of them were bursting out of the darkness, and he realized only at the last second that a smaller, much faster one had circled them in the darkness and was now rushing in from behind to attack the stationary noncombatants.

He frowned back in return to Dante's response, hardly at all amused with what he heard as he added on to Justin's words. "You're a Weapon, right? That means you've got a form to turn into for a Meister to use." A Meister being him, of course, since apparently he was the only one who was a Meister amongst them all. Almost hilarious, if it wasn't for the current situation--
A cry from behind suddenly sounded, and the samurai whirled around to see a kishin - having avoided the brunt of Justin's attack - lunging towards them now with the intent to kill. Date growled as he darted forward, grabbing Dante by his wrist as the Meister barked out at him. "Turn into your Weapon form if you want to live, goddamnit!" There was no more time for all this chit-chat.

Justin had some really cool moves. Dante watched with some appreciation of his fighting skills. That is before Date grabbed his wrist. Dante did not appreciate this manhandling. Not one bit. "I can't transform any more! Completely human now!" He didn't know how much Vergil had told Date, but he assumed it had something to do with their Devil Triggers. There wasn't anything else he could transform into, although calling it his Weapon form was rather strange.
And then the kishin attacked. Date was still holding his wrists so he couldn't jump out of the way, not to mention Nataku was lying behind them. They had to take it head on. Dante punched it with his free hand and managed to push it back a little. "Let go so we can get this started already!"

He could at the very least crane his neck up to see what was going on which seemed to be a lot of yelling -- and sudden flashes of light. A brief moment of wondering how long it would be before he could do the same sort of attacks as Justin came and left. Something that would be filed away as it seemed like he should care just a little more about the Kishin egg that had gotten dangerously close to them.
While it was pushed back just a little from the punch received, it only seemed to make the creature that much angrier. Another scream either to further vocalize its rage or call even more Kishin eggs to the location -- like they were not already aware. Only a brief moment later before it rushed forward to try to tear into Dante with both fangs and claws.

Effortlessly slipping a frontal swipe from the second beast, he swept his blade around to lop off its head in a clean slice, then turning on his heel to rush back to the others. He had precious seconds before three more would come at them, he estimated. All he could see as he ran was that the supposed Weapon in red had disappeared under the Kishin Egg attacking behind, which was desperate to find purchase on his flesh and bones.
It may have already been too late, but Justin had promised Miss Azusa that he would help the Guests at all costs. Keeping low, he swiftly surged forward and charged under the scrabbling creature, heaving it to lever it off of its victim. He didn't have time to assess the man's status; he was concentrating on seizing the thing's arms and grappling to keep it at bay, whilst trying to force his guillotine blade towards its neck.
"Get him out of there!" he ordered to the blue samurai.

Gritting his teeth, the Meister growled as he followed the orders and forcibly pulled Dante out of immediate harm's way, turning around to face him after that as he gritted out at the Weapon. "Its either you turn into your Weapon form and work with me to get out of this, or we get mowed down by all these kishins and become their food. Even you know what's the better option here, right?" Normally Date really wasn't this forceful, but with things as they were (and with Dante proving to be just as obstinate and stubborn as Sanada Yukimura), there really wasn't much of an option at hand now.

Instead he yelled back. "What the fuck are you expecting me to do here? What is this about--"
He wasn't sure what happened next, one moment he was arguing with Date, the next he found he had no mouth to yell with. Dante felt the distinct impression of being a sword or more specifically his sword Rebellion. Where Dante once stood was now a claymore. He technically couldn't see since he had no eyes, but he somehow he knew where everything was as if was looking at them himself, no better than that since this view was now the full 360 degrees. He knew Date stood in front of him, Justin was grappling with a kishin off to the side and Nataku lying on the ground.
The hell!?

Nataku, in turn, looked up from his vantage point to all the fighting and the soon to be fight. "Congratulations on finding your weapon form, Dante." His tone remained unbothered and calm despite the circumstances. Only because he still did not understand what fear was in terms of caring about his own life or what would happen to him. It also seemed to the prone Weapon that nothing would come from any sort of panicking. Save arguments if Date and Dante's antics. "It also occurs to me that you three would be much better off if you left me as I am."
The three continued their rush toward the group even as Nataku stared at them apathetically. It would not be too long before they descended upon them as well. The idea of a pack of wolves came to mind, but they were far more rabid and starving for that sort of analogy. Still, more could be heard coming in the same direction of the three. Hidden off in the darkness, but hearing the prospect of a meal was enough to drag them toward the fray as well.

Simultaneous to turning around, he heard Nataku's congratulatory announcement. It was fortunate; maybe the Guests could proceed in helping themselves a little. He, too, could hear more enemies approaching still and there wasn't the time to deal with them singularly anymore. He could do something about them, but he'd need time to prepare for it.
"Blue and Red! Hold them off for a few seconds! I will guard Nataku!" he ordered loudly. They wouldn't be able to handle three at once, though; his blade shrank slightly before launching from his arm powerfully, chain trailing shrilly as it lanced between the legs and lower abdomen of the lead Kishin Egg, crippling its movement and quite possibly robbing it of its once-manhood in the process. Adding yet another injury to both insult and injury, he whipped the chain across to send the violated beast flying into the second one on its right, tripping it up.
That left the one on their right for the two Guests, to be followed by the left once it could regain its feet. The lead one wasn't going anywhere anytime soon, even if it wasn't quite dead. Death may have been preferable. The blade was torn from the bloody mess and the chain retracted, returning it to Justin as he then took an odd pose, with his head bowed and eyes closed. The oncoming Kishin Egg sprang forwards like a crazed animal, attempting to crush the Weapon and Meister under its weight.

Date broke into a small grin at Nataku's words and despite the situation, looking very much more fired up as he grabbed the Weapon without another wasted second. The resonation was nothing like what he had with Genesis - it was almost unbearable, but just tolerable enough for Date to keep his hold on and not drop the Weapon. Looks like Dante wasn't going to be that all agreeable just yet, but at least now things were getting somewhere.
Between Nataku's deadpan commentary and Justin's barking orders, the Meister only kept grinning, feeling much more confident now that he had a Weapon with him. Now that he had a Weapon to fight now, he felt very much at the ready to deal some serious damage for all the trouble these kishins had caused in the last few minutes.
"Alright, I got it," he replied to Justin as he tightened his hold on Dante, feeling the thrill of battle starting to surge through his veins as he lunged right towards the nearest Kishin that was after them, already brining out the giant claymore to slash in a wide arc against the beast to deal the first strike. "You ready for this, Dante? Let's party!"

He noticed that his form wasn't that of what he remembered Rebellion to be like. In fact this was the form it had before Vergil saw fit to impale him with his own sword. It was right after it had changed form that he had been able to use his Devil Trigger. Considering that he couldn't use it in this form did this mean that someone else could? Dante could ponder this later, for now they had some asskicking to do.
Let's get this party started! Dante didn't know how well Date could wield a claymore, he had only seen him with those practice swords and they had none of the length or weight of Rebellion, he tried to send Date information on how to wield it (him?) and the various moves he had used once. He had no idea if he could even communicate with Date, but it was better than doing nothing and like hell was he just going to just sit back and do nothing.
Dante slashed right through the Kishin, tearing it nearly in half like it was made of paper. The Kishin fell screaming and writhing. It wasn't dead yet, but it wasn't going to get back up. That left just one which was now more wary of them after seeing what had happened to its comrade.

A beat. "It also occurs to me that neither of you are taking the option of abandoning me to get to safety." His head titled every so slightly in the mud to look around legs and the like to watch what was happening -- he had to know what it was that was going to kill him, as he was unsure if they could keep up the momentum of the fight. Still, he wondered if he would have to yell in order to get them to listen to him, but he rarely ever did so. He did not see the point, when it seemed like they were just ignoring him; he would just repeat what he was saying until they acknowledged it.
The halted Kishin seemed to finally decide on what it would do as well. It ran toward the meister and weapon, before trying to weave out of the way of any attack. Actually proving to be a lot faster than the ones that came before, and could slide just a bit out of the way of the blade at first. Sliding through the mud to help it literally slip past the two. Spurred on perhaps by the constant screaming of the one that had fallen before, and following screaming that seemed to be coming from the darkness.
As for the one that had fallen, it continued to flop and twist about on the ground. Trying to swing itself toward the two, to bite anything that it could. Still so hungry and furious and wishing to share the pain felt over any logic that it could no longer defend itself, that it could no longer do anything to get away properly.
