Shishito wanted to show that he wasn't useless, even though the idea of going out in the rain didn't appeal to him very much at all. Neither did taking the dog along, but he thought that Caramel wouldn't stand for being left behind when Colette was in trouble.

With shaking hands and even worse nerves, he managed to get her on a leash. After that, he grabbed blankets and towels. Then, scooping the dog up, he held in a breath and went out the door, hoping he wouldn't drown or something.

Pepper likely made it there before Shishito finally got outside. He spotted the red car but hesitated. It was an older car (considering he was from 2029 of course) and the steering wheel was on the wrong side. More than that, he didn't know Pepper herself was the car. But he had to remind himself that Pepper was going to help. She probably wasn't a bad person. And it was thanks to her he was matched up with Colette in the first place. So, with all the bravery he could manage, he approached.

Whatever he was thinking about at the time quickly vanished as soon as he heard Pepper's voice. So people could even turn into cars here. Shishito flinched some and quickly went to the right side to literally dump everything in his arms into the seat. "S-stay there..." he told Caramel with no confidence whatsoever at all.

He froze when he realized she wanted him to sit behind the wheel. He didn't even need to be drenched in any rain to look kind of pitiful at that moment. "B-but I can't--!" Shishito started to panic but really didn't like being wet, so he slid obediently into the seat. Pepper didn't expect him to drive or anything did she? He twisted his hands together worriedly. He somehow felt saying he didn't know how to drive because he was a prisoner since very young would be a bad idea. She had to get here by herself somehow anyway....right...?

It took quite a lot to get Shishito to calm down, if that could even ever happen fully. Pepper's attempts at trying to soothe him did work enough to get him to sit back a little since he didn't have to worry about driving the car. Somehow, he feared, that would have ruined everything about this rescue mission.

Still fretting over Colette, however, he sat with bandaged hands wrenching together and near his mouth, as if he were contemplating chewing his fingernails (if he had any). It was only the glance up to the rear view mirror that distracted him. Crazy or not, he was still a young man and Pepper did not seem to be wearing any clothes - he wasn't aware of Weapons appearing naked either.

"Oh...." He stared for a moment, going red in the face until he brought his hands up and dutifully covered his eyes.

"I...I don't know. I just saw her on the video feed, I guess. I only saw her when s-she was leaving the apartment. I-I don't know anything."

Colette was trying to get herself free but was only mildly successful as the water affected her attempts to fly as well, pushing against her wings as she tried to at least keep afloat let alone get herself up out of the water of the lower streets. She felt terrible for having lost hold of the groceries she had gone to get, the reason she had been outside in the first place, but that could always be replaced. She just hoped to get herself free and that she hadn't worried Shishito too much if he had seen her broadcast. She had managed to keep ahold of her communication device though, luckily. She tried to keep hold of it, hoping it was waterproof or that she could ask Shibusen for a new one later if she needed a replacement.

Shishito kept his hands held up over his eyes for the most part, as if he feared Pepper would get him in trouble for looking at her in the rear view mirror while she was .... not decent. He still seemed to be fretting quite a lot. Whatever crying had been leftover from his own video feed not long before had sort of dissolved into tiny convulsions.

"I'll try..." he murmured through his hands, trying to concentrate on Colette. Colette was a warm person, different than the others; she was like Ganta... how hard could that kind of person be to track down?

"A-are you going to be..okay..." he had peeked through his fingers a moment to look at the road when he felt the struggling. But a shaky hand pointed in the driver side window's direction. "Maybe...over that way." He hoped it was right, he hoped it was right.

Colette struggled against the water, her gaze to the sky and rooftops when she heard the vechile approaching, wondering what it was and why anyone would be out right now in this chaos of the floods. But chances were it would be a rescue attempt, right? She couldn't have been the only one caught in it, of course. So perhaps Shibusen had sent out people to help? She only hoped they wouldn't also get swept in with the rest if that were the case.

As it got closer and she recognized it for some sort of vechile, she gasped as she saw it jumping across the rooftops and heading it her direction.

Shishito, meanwhile, did not need to be told to hang on twice. He yelped as she sped up the ramp and began clutching the seat as if his life depended on it. Poor Caramel had to defend for herself. No, no it was not comforting that Pepper's eyes were closed at all. Only Shishito's eyes were allowed to be closed!

Last he checked, cars were only supposed to go on roads, too. Needless to say, he was scared practically lifeless, but at least tears of terror were kind of blurring his vision. Until he thought he saw a glimmer of golden blonde bobbing in the water a small distance ahead and latched on briefly to Colette's wavelength.

"S-she's there! That's her! So can you just---" Stop driving. Or roof jumping. Or scaring him to death.
