[There is a Date here somewhere not exactly in a corner but almost there, not brooding but rather just going through every bit of information given and trying to squash it all into his head. A lot to go through and all that jazz after all.

[Vergil ambles over at some point during the briefing. He's showered and tried a couple of hangover cures, but his expression is unmistakable and he still looks a touch unkempt: he feels like utter crap.]

Looks like we're stuck together even at work.

[Not even death would keep him from his duties, though.]

[Blinks a little at the sight of Vergil, somewhat surprised to see him like this. who would've thought...]

['Miserable' would more or less describe his overall state at the moment, yes. He has also had an emotionally traumatizing morning altogether.]

I'm not sure what exactly Raven had me drink, all I know is that it'll never happen again.

[He sighs and presses two fingers between his eyes, willing the pain to go away.] I didn't realize 'meeting people' and 'poisoning myself' would amount to the same thing.

[Speaking of which:] Any idea who else is in the same zone as us?

I need more iconspace in general, natch.

[Totally knows the feeling of a hangover right here, and he gets it worse because lol Sengoku Era.] I don't know what you guys in the future have, but I recommend water. Lots of it.

[Would totally pat Vergil in the back if he was that kind of guy, but alas. That aside though:] No, I don't really know just yet. Do you?

No. Suppose I could ask. [He doesn't seem all that motivated, which is something of an oddity for him.] We'll probably meet them before long, though, if they don't find us first.

[He cares enough for the time being to look to his own team's status, however.] Are you suitably armed for patrol, or...?

We'll have to meet them to change shifts or something right? We should see them soon enough if that's the case.

[Grins at that question, and pulls out the katana he got back during his mission for its sheathe.] I'm always ready.

[He nods simply, though the show of the katana evokes a small half-grin. Certainly a subject that always draws his interest.]

I wish I'd been able to afford one with better aesthetics- [He doesn't even look at his, which is simply practical, lacking in adornment, and holds zero appeal to him beyond the fact that it's functional]

-but I really did need those training weapons as well, and I wasn't exactly rich. [Yet. With the Watch starting up, he'd now have two jobs.] Hopefully another mission will come up close to some of the weapon dealers I found.

[Well, it helps when you're buying a katana yourself - at least you can choose yours properly, and make sure that its a good purchase before getting one. Also it was a good thing that Genesis was around to help him actually make the purchase as well. The future was just so strange these days.]

I'm sure you'll get your chance soon enough. [Grins a bit more.] If you ever go get a new sword, get one for me as well, will you? [It would be awesome if he ever got six swords - he could attempt to practice on his six sword style yet again.]

You can count on it. I intend to choose my missions based on location and proximity to dealers, as it were, and I have quite the shopping list. [Butterfly swords, gauntlets, jian, longsword, scimitar, throwing knives... for starters. Mind, the boring katana had been intentional. He'd needed a functioning weapon as soon as possible.]

Of course, I believe Shibusen insists on formal partners for their missions, so I'm grounded until I actually have a human Weapon. At least what I have will tide me over for now. [Barely. He could defend himself, but still He could sure go for some variety and style.]

[Date is pretty much just sticking to his katanas - though he would like to have six of them as soon as possible, so that he could quickly start on his six-sword style once again. It was just strange to be unable to do it now when he was so used to pulling it out at any time.]

I'm counting on you for that, then. [Smirks, before his expression turns into something a bit more serious at the next bit.] Yeah, I do intend to find somebody who can work with me soon enough. There's Genesis, but... [Well, it was still between both of them, and Date does prefer finding his own Weapon - Genesis is good, certainly, but somehow Date isn't so sure if he can stick by the other for so long.]

[This comes as a surprise to Vergil. He blinks, then raises an eyebrow partially in jest.]

Having second thoughts, Date? I wouldn't have expected you to consider backing down from the challenge. It'd be less fun if I simply won by default. [Having said that, though, his expression becomes thoughtful.]

Mind, it's not like I haven't been keeping an eye out for other Weapons, too, even if I don't seriously consider myself partnering with anybody else. At least I met one or two interesting people in the process.
