Characters: Stein and YOU Location: Stein's lab Rating: Always the potential for R... Time: Sept. 10th Description: If for some Shinigami-forsaken reason you want to talk to Dr. Stein in person.
[Hey, creepy things and Rei go together like bread and butter. She's walking around, taking pictures with a camera she bought from...somewhere, and jotting down notes every once in a while.
And then she saw the building. There's every instinct telling her she really shouldn't go in, but she's seen scarier places before. She's still exhausted, only sleeping maybe an hour at a time because she's too afraid of falling back into that dream and having her soul devoured completely.
Otherwise, she'd bee sleeping for several days to catch up on all that she's technically missed.
Anyhow she gives a light knock on the door before going to push it open]
[The door does not push open. Twisting the knob yields that it is locked.
Yet, a moment after she tried to open the door, it swings open on it's own. Beyond is a long, wide, and dimly lit corridor. The halls and floor seem to be marked with the same patchwork design as the exterior.]
[To her credit, Rei isn't afraid and doesn't even react as the door swings open. Gripping onto her camera like it was her weapon, she made her way inside and down the hallway, keeping her mouth shut and her eyes open for anything]
[The hallway has several doors. The first is locked, but the second is not. There is also an open doorway further down the hall, judging by the lighting emitting from it.]
[Well, if there's anything being trapped in a haunted manor taught her, it's to go towards the light.
She moves down the hallway, being careful not to make much noise. When she gets to the door, she opens it slightly to peer in, camera at the ready...!]
Your building has an interesting look. I wanted to know if I could take pictures of it. [Smoothly lying, because that sounds a lot better than 'I thought you might have ghosts floating around that needed exorcising!']
You're Professor Stein, aren't you? One of the people with the ability to see souls.
Yeah, that's me. [She pauses, crossing her arms over her chest]
I have a question, now that I have you. One of your associates already helped me, but I wanted more validation.
[There's a long pause as she tries to decide how to put this] My soul is cursed. Or, was, at least, back home. It's being destroyed. [Eaten, more like, by the 'snake' in the snake & holly tattoo, but that's going into complicated details]
It makes sleeping difficult, because even if I don't enter the dream world of my curse I still have nightmares and can't sleep.
It's okay! c:cursed_tattooOctober 7 2010, 15:26:49 UTC
[She hesitates] Once... for a little while. But I started to have nightmares and woke up again.
It was...pretty quick. I know the curse is almost completed back home, to the point if I entered That Dream again than I'd die when I woke. It spread every time I woke from the dream, and I'd dream about it every time I fell asleep.

Excuse me, I didn't mean to bother you.

My doors open for anyone.
[A bit more typing, and a few mouseclicks, and the screen saves and clears, he turns to face her.]
But I'm still getting a lot of visitors today.

[It's hard to tell if he was being serious or not, he leans over the back of his chair and pins his full, generally unsettling attention on her]
Ah, that's right. You're one of the new arrivals.

[Might as well get straight to the point]

Were you looking for a sleeping prescription, or something?

I want to know for definite that the curse is at least halted for now.

As far as the curse goes, I can observe your soul a while. How quickly was it spreading before?
