"Hello, it's been a while, hasn't it?" he says in a kind voice, giving Ahiru one of his smiles.

"Sei-chan!" she exclaimed happily. "It has been awhile! It's nice to see you!" She eagerly gestured around her at the tables of confectioneries. "Would you like some cookies?"
Reply
"I would love to... hummm" he observes them with a sort of forged excitement "but which should I pick?"

She started gesturing between the tables packed with sweets, one by one. "There's peanut butter cookies over there, and oatmeal raisin next to those..." She turned over to the other side to continue, pointing with her finger. "And over here is the sugar cookies and the gingerbread on the table right by it. And..." Finally, she indicated the table that she and Fakir were standing behind. "These ones are aaaaalllll chocolate chip!"

He takes the piece to his mouth, eating it with a very deep expression, like a true grommet.
"These are quite good." he finally announces after the long wait, smiling warmly "Did you two made them?"
Reply
Ahiru nodded in response to his question. "Yup, we did! It took all night, but we got them done!"

It had been a long night of baking, and the only sleep Fakir had gotten was a short nap while Ahiru was off getting boxes and a cart to transport the cookies. He sipped his coffee, expression a bit stormy. All that stupid baking had been more or less a thankless task. Why did Ahiru have to get such stupid ideas?

... Well, at any rate, he wasn't hurting her and Ahiru didn't seem upset about it. Fakir would let it slide, however strange and unnecessary and overly familiar it might be.
He set down his coffee to look sternly up at the man. "There's no need to repay anything." Taking the sweets away was all Fakir could want in terms of personal gain from this situation. He definitely didn't want more of them.
