From the past, huh.
Date Masamune pondered to himself, mulling over those words and the announcement that Death the Kidd had made earlier. From ten years ago... Hard to believe now, really, that ten years had passed - things had changed (and boy how they had changed) and of course Date had to long accept the fact that he would be stuck here for good. BREW had utterly shut down a long time back, and it was clear there was no chance for him to return to Japan (as he learned what Hi-No-Moto would eventually be called) now. Still, he supposed this life wasn't too bad, circumstances aside. There were people here now, who needed him, and if they needed him he'd still damn well be that very leader that they needed.
Still... ten years ago. It was odd, to hear about them now after all this time, but then again things had never been exactly normal for him from the moment he found himself in this place. A decade had already passed, and Date had long gotten used to this future - not that he had any other choice. Life now was mostly kill of be

Taiwan couldn't believe that they were getting a visit from the past. It wasn't exactly peaceful but it was so much better than what they were facing now. Sometimes, she wished she could go back to the past and fix everything that has happened but she had to move forward. Besides, there was some positive aspects. For one, she was able to finally forgive China and call him brother.
After a couple of minutes, she decides to pay her partner a visit. "Hey Date, are you in there?" She said after knowing on his door.
Date blinked open an eye at the voice, recognizing it almost instantly - not that he couldn't, since she was his current partner and all. Ten years and Date had been through many many Weapons (some of them now lost to the Witches, including Spitfire) but Taiwan was undeniably one of the best he had managed to partner with. And she was a pretty good girl, too... aside from the whole being a country thing. Date still couldn't get that half the time.
Well, anyway. The samurai pushed himself up from his bed, scratching the back of his head as he replied. "Yeah, I'm in." He supposed the Weapon wanted to discuss with him about the whole incident as well, not that he could blame her... it had been the talk around this place in recent days (as well as the CWC, apparently, not that he could blame them as well).
As she opened the door, a small smile appeared on her face. "I see that you're up and ready." She didn't want to seem sad in front of him, she had at least try to keep that optimistic attitude.
Taiwan had gone through many Meisters but she happened to like Date the best. Even though they had their many differences, at least he was very willing to work with her and she was did the same. Plus, the sparring came in handy from time to time. "So, did you hear the news that's spreading around?"
"I'm always up and ready," Date returned, smiling back as well. For many of their differences, he did know fair well how his current Weapon was at times - after all, the last ten years had put him through many experiences, and some of them hardly great at all. It had really been mostly a stroke a luck that he found Taiwan after having lost Spitfire to the witches... that still tugged on his conciousness greatly.
Anyway, back to the matter at hand. The samurai made a sound of acknowledgement as he shifted on his bed for Taiwan to take a place on it. "Yeah, I heard about it. Heard Kidd's announcement as well." Strange, really, ten years ago... this was around the time when he had just arrived as well. Or at least, he thought so. Ten years wasn't by all means a very short time, after all.
"Hard to believe isn't it?" She sighed before sitting on Date's bed. Spending most of the day walking around was exactly a good idea when one barely got any sleep last night. "I didn't even realize that ten years have passed. Especially with what has been going on." While she wanted to think there was some good things that came out of those ten years, she couldn't deny that it made her more cynical and just pessimistic. She couldn't help but laugh a bit. Man, she was depressing.
For a moment, she didn't say anything but she sighed once again. "Are you planning on talking to any of them soon?"
The samurai snorted in mild amusement at the first bit. "Time flies when you're having fun, I suppose." Hard to believe still, it had been ten years - the future wasn't that all strange to him now as it first was, but still there were times when Date couldn't help but marvel at what the future had. Sure, it hadn't been the perfect sort of world he envisioned himself, but at least... it was acceptable. The only thing he regretted was that he could never return to Hi-No-Moto now and tell Koujurou about it.
At the question, Date made a small hum, debating it for a moment before replying. "No, it wouldn't do much for me. I didn't know them at all in the first place anyway." Those four had their own people to see and things to do - being one who got ganked over four hundred years from his past, the samurai knew well how those four would feel at the moment. This time displacement things was really much more troublesome than it was worth.
"I wonder what's going to happen to them...or what if the witches found out about this..." She mumbled to herself before sighing. She knew full well what the witches were capable of. One of her brother's partner, Namine, had to deal with the experience. Not to mention some of her friends had experienced the same thing...and some decided to run off somewhere.
"I'm sure they'll find out eventually," Date muttered back in return, a frown crossing his face. Things had changed a lot in the last few years, and it was without a doubt that the Witches would get their information one way or another. It was just a matter of time, really. The samurai just hoped that it wouldn't be too soon.
He paused again, debating for a moment, and then spoke again. "Regardless, we'll have to be sure to protect them. The fact that they've returned is still a good thing, and perhaps..." The Meister trailed off as he thought about the words he had intended to say next. "...maybe send them back to where they came from, somehow." If they managed to get here within the confines of Death City, they should be able to get back, somehow. Or so he hoped.
"And doing the time warp again?" She joked but she highly doubted that he would get the reference. However, the girl's eyes widen a bit. "Yeah, I guess so..." She trailed off hoping that he wouldn't noticed her frustration. Believe it or not, the girl felt like she wanted to punch something right now.
She had a lot of things to protect like Date, Rin, Hope, her family but she also lost so many of her friends too. The thought of protecting all four of them never really came up in her mind until now. Yes, she was worried about them but maybe this was proof at how much she had grown. Still, growing more selfish wasn't a bad thing...
"So..." She quickly said hoping to change the subject. "I noticed that you haven't been eating a lot lately..."
It was hard to not notice her frustration, actually - they were partners after all in these last few years, and they had already went through a fair number of things together. If he couldn't even see that she was bothered by something now, then Date supposed he couldn't really call himself her Meister. Wasn't he supposed to look out for these things?
The change in topic caused Date to blink, surprised that she had actually noticed it - it had been going on for a bit already, so he had thought nobody had seen it, but he supposed... "Ah... I just haven't had a lot of appetite recently, that's all." There had been too much on his mind recently, and with the addition with this whole business... things were only to get a lot more wild, he knew.
Damn, it wasn't as if this whole party wasn't as rough as it was already.
She honestly hoped that Date wouldn't see her frustration but it was probably useless in the end. She knew that they had been partners for a while now to fully understand each other but there was some things she might want to keep to herself.
"You should eat more!" She stared at him. "You like to spar and fight a lot right? So what if you lose your energy in the middle of a battle?" She couldn't blame him for not eating with all of this mess going on but she was not going to let him die because he was stubborn. "Besides, you're still growing guy, you need it!"
The samurai snorted at that. "I'm already thirty, you know. I don't think I'll be 'growing' anytime soon." Hard to believe he was thirty already, really, what with everything that happened. Was this how Koujurou felt at this age as well? Maybe someday, somehow... he could ask his retainer.
Date sighed, scratching the back of his head as he spoke with audible exasperation. "I know better than to let myself fall to something like that." But still, he supposed the Weapon did have a point... maybe he could try to stuff a bit more food down his throat for once today. At least if that would put her at ease for the moment.
She couldn't help but jab at his arm. "That doesn't mean you should stop eating! You can still be 'growing' even if you are thirty." The girl was already 28 and it was 10 years where she couldn't 'feel' her people. She did want them to run the country without her but she couldn't help but wonder how they were dealing without her.
She got up before heading towards the door. "So, what do you want to eat?"
"Somehow I doubt that," he replied with a small wince when Taiwan jabbed his arm. Well, he guessed she did have a point though... it wouldn't be that all good if he let himself fall because he wasn't eating properly.
Getting up after her, took a moment to straighten out the wrinkles of his clothes before trailing behind the Weapon. "Let's see what we got first before deciding, unless you're going to cook or something."
Rin sighed, wiping at her brow as she walked through the tunnels with a basket on her hip. She had been hearing rumors for days about the people returned from the past, or people who had disappeared, or something. It had stirred a brief hope in her heart that perhaps BREW was working once again, and she would have to find Kid and question him about that herself.
But she wasn't going to get worked up. No. Rumors or truth, people from the past or not, none of this changed the amount of work she had to do. Each day was busy. Today she'd finished the laundry for not just herself, but everyone else she had somehow ended up mothering...
Too old. Big sistering? Though she could hardly think of Date as a little brother. And Taiwan was of course even older than her... somehow they all seemed so young though. Rin groaned as these thoughts started two make her feel old"You're only twenty-six, girl." Of course, most Japanese women would have produced a few heirs by now, instead she was fighting a war and doing Date Masamune's laundry... "These
