To Heine, though he'd never said it, that was worth so much, and even if Badou had stopped by out of chance it had been as well-timed as if Heine had asked him to come over himself. Badou was hit-and-miss with being on time, but when he hit then he hit it well. It wasn't like opening the door and seeing the red-head there had cast an obvious shadow of relief over the albino's face--in fact his expression remained rather blank as he shrugged and jerked his head toward the inside of the room to welcome Badou in--but inside there was definitely something.
And the way Badou handled Heine's moods was something else too. It was patient and laid-back and everything someone like Heine needed.
The gaming helped to. It filled silences, it distracted them, it passed time. And when they were both awake at the same time and playing the damn racing game again (Heine preferred the beat-em-ups), he broke the 24-hour silence without batting an eyelid, looking away from the screen or missing pulling his virtual car around the virtual corner.
"Our resonance broke."
