Paper Airplanes

Aug 08, 2010 16:38

Characters: Eve and Sohki
Location: Outside Aya/Eve's apartment.
Rating: G
Time: August 28, early afternoon
Description:  Meeting friends is childsplay!

Eve had been brooding. It wasn't a completely rare occurrence - she’d spent the best part of last week brooding over one thing or another (the frogs, the smell or just Aya looking sad and miserable, missing Pierce.) but today she just wanted to go out and explore, a feat that seemed almost impossible even next to the likes of this place.

Instead she would do something different, using her drawings as the base for some glittery folded paper planes. She could make them now that Aya had shown her how to do it properly, and keen as she was, she could have made them all day.

Pulling the cushion from her room so she was more comfortable, Eve’s blue eyes moved to the balcony, an easy place to get her seven pre-made planes to fly and summersault in the air, without furniture for them to crash into.

“Eve to Pilot, we have ignition! Glitter one is ready to fly!”

Eve closed her eyes, kneeling resting against the balcony’s edge, using the pillow for support. Silver glittered behind her eyelids. Sharp, bright and beautiful. Just waiting for her to reach out and grab it with both arms.

“Go go go go!”

Throwing the very first plane into the open space, Eve opened her eyes, watching as it floated in the air, elegant and birdlike. She giggled loudly, clapping for each second it stayed up, enjoying the moment. But something seemed to turn the scene upside down. As if the smiling sun wished it so, the plane took a nose dive, falling at breakneck speed until it hit an unwitting passer by below.

“Oh….. Uh---oh.”
