That little skirmish over and done with, Eruka sighed and made the rest of the way to the agency. She had seen the location of the place on the map, had traced and memorized the way there via the convenient back alleys Death City had. It would take a while, but hopefully the frogs and other things would have thinned the guards down on the place.

Light had arrived at the detective agency with time to spare, makeshift sword already soaked with frog guts, gore and whatever else they exploded into. She looked around for any of her companions before moving on to do her duty.

She'll look for Raidou later. For now, she had to make sure that the building was secure. It's when she was wandering around that she noticed the other woman - Raidou told her that no one else was supposed to be here other than himself and her party.

"Who's there?"

Thankfully, Lightning had made the right decision. Raidou really didn't need to be found, especially since he was already on the alert and moving through the area to check if any suspicious characters had to do with the sudden onslaught of frogs.

The boy detective turned the corner on the opposite end, just in time to see the strange woman that Lightning was addressing, and Lightning herself. He paused immediately, eyes narrowing, hand quietly going still. He could summon Naoto the moment things got difficult, but... for now...

Couldn't they tell she was a witch? The hat should have been telling. It wasn't like any of the usual Death City flies looked like her, either. Eruka sometimes wasn't sure what this war would come with, what with stronger witches using the weaker witches as their pawns and Shibusen bringing in useless guests to be their pawns. A war of stupid pawns wasn't really going to work.

Despite her general apprehension of the entire operation, Eruka regardless brought forth one of her larger tadpoles. Large, shiny, fanged thing. It was hurtling towards Lightning in an instant.

It wasn't only in people's appearances and attires that Light judged whether someone was one thing or other. How many others, after all, had tried to kill herself and her companions simply because of a brand on their body?

This didn't mean that Light was just going to trust anyone she met on the street, much less today when everything was suspicious. The answer of where the frog rain came from was answered soon enough, anyway. Too slow; Lightning was dodged monsters and attacks faster than that. With a side-step and a turn for momentum she was driving her elbow down on its slimy body, using the built-up speed and added it to her own strength.

Raidou took just one split second to analyze the situation before determining his own movements - that was, to close in from the other end, weapon - a katana he had purchased at the Carnival - drawn, heading, this time, for Eruka.

The frog and hostility was proof enough of the fact that they needed to dispose of this woman as soon as possible, or at least stall her from whatever her objective happened to be.

Oh, another fighter. Just her luck. The tadpole shrugged the attack off like water on a frog's back and only turned around to lash at the woman with its tail.

The boy had brought out a sword. For a moment, Eruka thought that the weapon was another one of those transforming humans, but she couldn't detect any soul from it. A tadpole appeared behind her, sweeping her up on its back and floating out of his reach a few meters over his head. Four smaller tadpoles of the exploding kind appeared in front of her and darted down to the two pests. All they had to do was latch on and explode, so be quick on your feet!

Dodge, instincts told her, screeching loudly as she jumped over the errant tail. She twisted her body out of the way and found her attention drawn to both of her opponents; the witch-girl as well as the tadpole.

Raidou was here. Where were the others?

She grit her teeth when she recognized the smaller tadpoles and ran toward the bigger one. A risk, yes, but perhaps they can deal more damage than she seemed capable.

The only visible sign of his displeasure was a slight narrowing of his eyes, as he looked up to see the woman dodge his attack. He evaded her counter in the next moment, just in the nick of time.

He needed more support, it seemed. Raidou shut his eyes, clearing his mind, reaching for his partner.

They've been practicing his ability to summon her a lot, as of late. Doing so was now second nature to him.

The small detective was suddenly there, standing within reaching distance of Raidou, gun poised in her fingertips as she stared around quickly. Naoto's dark eyes assessed the situation, noted the tadpoles and Witch, the battle already begun. Without hesitation she turned to take Raidou's hand.

"Ready, partner?" She asked intently - both question and affirmation. Then she transformed to her Weapon form, a pair of ebony glasses, elegantly appointed with a few silver studs.

If Eruka wasn't a witch, she would have startled at the appearance of the other boy -- girl? She couldn't really tell, didn't particularly care. But weapon forms usually had some form of attack that she should watch out for. Eruka summoned more tadpoles around her, and took comfort in the sound of croaking currently drowning the city.

On Lightning's end, the big tadpole opened its maws to welcome her into its stomach, thinking that Lightning was there to feed it with herself. The two smaller tadpoles followed.

Raidou can probably take care of himself. If not, then Lightning was providing support once she was done here.

If asked, she wouldn't admit to missing her gunblade or the extra abilities being a l'Cie afforded her. As it was, she was doing minimal damage so for now, she had to find another way. She glanced behind her once to make sure that the smaller ones were following before she jumped high and flipped backwards.

She landed on her feet just as the tadpoles exploded on contact.

"Thank you."

Raidou smiled, briefly touching the rim of his Weapon with his fingers before turning back towards their opponent, holding his sword at a ready. He nudged his partner with his mind, expressing, through the link between their souls, what he wanted her to do in the saftey of their hearts and minds.

He wanted to scan their opponent for possible weaknesses. Of course, he couldn't say that out loud.

Attuned as they were, and spending nearly every waking hour together - both in the apartment and in the Detective Agency, Naoto needed no more prompting than the intention in his mind to know what Raidou wanted. The HUD display in the glasses went dark green marked with bright as they 'scanned' Eruka, her tadpoles, and the closest frogs.

The purpose of this action was to try and pick out any weakness of the enemy, anything hidden, anything that could be of use to them in the fight.

((Please list anything you think the glasses would be capable of seeing. It's alright if there isn't much, isn't anything, especially when it comes to Eruka :) ))

Eruka being a witch, of course, couldn't be scanned by an ordinary weapon in the hands of a one-star meister, but the tadpoles were another matter entirely. They seemed empty, just great big fanged globs, but their weakest spots were the middle of their heads (foreheads, if they head it, but being spherical gave them a bit of a disadvantage when it came to hairline) and the root of their tail. Eruka didn't seem to notice that they were doing, just sending some more of the smaller tadpoles at them. Around them, the frogs that had rained down on the city had also begun pouncing on their mistress' assailant. A particularly small frog was trying to stick to Raidou's clothes to root through his pockets. Keys and all.

The large tadpole after Lightning was stunned for a moment at the explosions. So stunned, in fact, that it farted out black smoke right at Lightnight. It smelled about as putrid as the city's deepest, most disgusting sewers.

Fortunately (or unfortunately?) Lightning had already experienced worse. This caused nausea and dizziness at the least, but an Ochu could petrify, poison and kill anyone with just one whiff. Nonetheless, she lifted her hand to her mouth and nose when she saw the black smoke.

It couldn't be denied that Death City needed a better sewage and waste system. She weaved a little, disoriented. Even the inside of Cocoon's plants weren't this bad.
