[ CASUALTY COMMUNAL ]daddyscytheJune 19 2010, 08:17:33 UTC
Not long after leaving the plaza, the entire group found themselves in front of the Casualty Communal. A small, one-floor building could be seen a little off ways from it. Spirit pointed to that first.
"That's another clinic for the guests. It's newly constructed and managed by the guests themselves. As for Casualty Communal itself -- staying here is for free! There's a common room and lounge on the first floor, and the rooms themselves are pretty nice. However, if you find a partner of your own, you can move to Death City Heights. The rooms there are really awesome!"
He led them to the front desk, urging them to line up to get their keys. "Just register and you're done. If you have questions, I'm just here to answer them!" The Communal was getting quite crowded, though. Hopefully, the other dorms would be finished soon.
[After waiting patiently through the tour, Seimei decides that he has some questions to be answered. Careful to control his expression, of course, he asks what he wants to know.]
I have a number of questions.
First and foremost... is there enough room in a communal room for two people, should my younger brother appear?
Second, you mentioned Meisters and Weapons. When you register, are your souls bound together through contract?
My name is Liz Thompson. I am also a native of this world, and student of Shibusen.
To answer your question, yes, there is. There is also the villa which is bigger, but that is usually reserved for partners. Should you partner with your brother, that would be another option for the two of you.
The second--no, they aren't Technically you can have more than one person you resonate with, but the more people you resonate with, the weaker the partnership is. Picking one person and sticking with them allows for a closer bond to be formed over time, and thus makes it stronger.
It is. Soul Resonation is something that has a lot of variables that can be better explained by teachers at Shibusen, and is something that can change as the partners do. You may resonate with someone one day, and not the next depending on their state of mind and fortitude along with other things.
In my world you're simply destined to have your partner, with absolutely no say in the matter, regardless of how you feel for them. It's quite upsetting.
[He lowers his voice. He doesn't mind sharing, but he doesn't need everyone to know.]
There's a thread that connects your soul to the soul of someone else. You share a name, inscribed on your body. For myself, it's written on my hand. The word 'Beloved', that is.
How did this end up as tl;dr? =\holy_pranksterJune 20 2010, 00:41:57 UTC
The last thing that Sohki had been expecting after leaving the mansion was to end up pulled to a parallel Earth, and the surprise actually left the kirin more excited than anything else. How long had it been since he'd had the pleasure of being surprised in such a way? It was far too long in the kirin's mind.
The fact that his duties to the Holy King had to placed on hold wasn't a major concern to the kirin. While he had finally acknowledged Fuuto, Sohki wasn't in the least bit worried in regards to the Holy King's health. Garuda and the others were more than capable of looking after their dear Fuuto, and he was more disappointed over the fact that he'd lost something interesting to observe.
Now, however, it seemed as though he had something else interesting to observe. 'And just when I'd thought I'd seen it all,' Sohki thought with a bemused chuckle

Spirit stepped over, nodding. "Yeah, of course! Just look for it in the mall, see if it's covered by Shibusen, and then buy it. You also get some money for the carnival, so maybe you can find a bigger variety up there."
So many tea drinkers among the guests! Coffee was best!
"In the mall?" It had been quite some time since he'd set food in such an establishment that it left Sohki highly curious. He wasn't quite certain if the tea of this Earth would live up to the ones from his own, but the kirin was definitely curious enough to try. "I shall be interested to see what variety your world has to offer."
The mention of the carnival definitely caught Sohki's attention. He'd remembered it being spoken of throughout the tour, but the kirin hadn't even considered the fact that there might be some tea there. Perhaps an investigation was in order!
"Oh yes, the carnival. I haven't been to one in quite some time~" He murmured more to himself. Shaking his head lightly, the feathers on his head ornament swayed with the action as the kirin reached up with one hand in an attempt to touch Spirit's face, "Do you mind if I take a look at you?"
Whether Spirit objected or not didn't matter to Sohki in the slightest. If his gracious tour guide didn't move away, then nothing shy of batting his hand away would stop the
Take a look at him? Take a look at him how? Spirit shrieked in his head at the touch, but didn't pull away. It was strange to be touched in the face by another man, but he had to remind himself that the BREW had taken the guests' abilities from them before all of this. Maybe the guy was tactile?
Or, you know, Spirit, blind. That explanation made more sense in his head. Spirit observed Sohki for a moment as he stood his ground and let the guest touch his face. "Er, take a look? And the carnival is only open until tomorrow, so I think you should check it soon. It has a lot of wares from all over the world."
Sohki was amused that he could almost feel how uncomfortable the other was with his gesture. His fingers touched along the skin before the kirin began tracing his touch along the contours of Spirit's face as he memorized what he looked like.
Spirit seemed to be taking it in good stride though, and it left him smiling cheerfully. "I'll definitely be quite interested in experiencing it then," He murmured before finally pulling his hand away. Slipping his hand back beneath the long folds of material, Sohki finally opened his eyes again as he peered over to the registration desk, "Is that the area we are to register? I apologise, my eye sight is rather weak."
So the guy's eyesight was bad. Spirit felt better about getting his face touched now. He pointed at the desk and led the way there, making sure that there was nothing to trip Sohki on the way. He could never resist helping women, children, elders and the disabled out!
"Well, if that's the case, I can always register you for you. The place as thirteen floors! Where would you like to be?"
Xion stayed at the back of the pack throughout the whole tour of the town, not daring to get to close to anyone else and keeping her hood up the whole time. Unlike what she guessed some of the others were worried about (although almost everyone seemed pretty calm), she wasn't too worried about being in another world. It was just the idea that she's still alive that concerned her.
Seeing as the tour was over, she cautiously approached Spirit, voice wavering and clearly nervous as she spoke. "Ah, how... is it that we gained your world's abilities?"
That was difficult to explain, given that Spirit was neither a technician or was interested in being one. The BREW stumped most of their scientists as it was.
"I'm not really sure, but he popular theory here is that since your normal powers wouldn't work here, the BREW thought it fit to replace them with something that would work. Like… something from this world. Resonance."

If Meisters are anything like Sacrifices in my world... I do truly doubt that.
So you are free to chose your partners? Sounds a lot more liberal than the system set in my world, at least.

Destined? How do you know who is to be your partner?

Though most carry a name ending in -less.
