It was odd to think that one of the safest places in the entire complex was the small sectioned off stairwell, but to Eve, timidly hiding in the small unpopulated room; it was something of a respite. Too her it was an assured solitary safe place that, after she’d managed to scramble into by sheer luck, she wasn’t willing to crawl out from anytime soon. Her resolve was as concrete as were the cool grey walls surrounding her.
“Spirit?... Aya?”
Despite the safety, at the mere mention of her sister’s name, the small blond just about curled herself into a ball. Slamming her back against the railing desperately, knees stapled to her chin she rocked back and forwards, repeating the action until somehow, she felt a little better.
“You’re coming to get me aren’t you?”
Communicating on her device earlier had obviously rubbed every feeling and emotion red raw, frayed nerves making it hard to calm down. Her mind was still too active to doze off the way she might have wanted and the events that had bought her to her current situation came back in flashes of daunting clarity. All she could do now was sit and wait, small thin arms wrapped around her knees in lieu of sisterly comfort.
“Where are you?”
Aya’s friend; he'd find her wouldn’t he? Or maybe Aya changed plans and would come find her herself instead. Her sister could find almost anybody after all... It wouldn't be long before one of them was there anyway, kicking the butt of whoever wouldn’t let them go back to back home. But alas, she sighed. That thought didn't help her, not in the way it had before. She just felt empty right now. Empty, tired, and hurt, and she wanted to lie down and forget about it. Every single bit of it.
Could she though? - It wasn't very safe. Or it didn't feel safe, anyway. Then again, she wasn't necessarily looking to get to sleep, but if it chose to pay a visit, who was she to complain. Forgetting things wasn’t such a bad idea anymore. Neither was waking up in your own bed again only to find out it was all a dream. That sounded good; really good.
A small, quiet sigh escaped her lips. Moments later, she closed her eyes.
