Jules was just as worried about being attacked by strangers as he had warned others be be, but it was horribly hot and ice seemed like a more trustworthy way to cool down than whatever other methods Death City might have to offer. Soon after talking to the pleasant-sounding young lady upstairs, he wandered to her room and carefully knocked on the door.

Anthy quickly opened the door and allowed Jules to come in. "Good day," she greeted him with her usual smile.

"You haven't had any shady characters visiting, have you?" he asked as he entered the apartment, still concerned that such a sweet and generous girl would be taken advantage of.

"None so far," she replied. She gestured him to sit down on one of the pillows around the table. "My name's Anthy Himemiya, sir."

Jules smiled gently at her and took a seat, briefly wondering what she might have against chairs. "And I'm Jules de Ferrier, Miss Himemiya. You know, I don't believe I've ever had shaved ice."

Anthy took a seat in front of him. "It's nice to meet you, Mr. de Ferrier. You seem to be quite the gentleman."

She opened the cooler and started looking for a good bowl. When Jules mentioned he has never had shaved ice before, she served him a good, hot sauce flavored one. "They're very good."

"Thank you, miss," Jules responded, "I do try." He didn't notice what Anthy had used to flavour his snack, but he imagined that it was something tasty. "Do you make this often? It looks perfect for the summertime."

"Why, yes, actually! I usually make it for dinner. It's my specialty," she said cheerfully, as if making shaved ice was something to be proud of. She pulled her bowl closer and finished what's left.

"Really? It doesn't look particularly filling, but..." With that, Jules took a bite of the shaved ice. The flavour was, for lack of a better word, horrible, as if Anthy had put together two things that didn't belong in the same bowl at all. Still, he forced himself to smile and wondered if it would be too odd to ask for some water with his ice.

Anthy started making some tea, smiling as she stirred the liquid in her cup. She was amused at how Jules decided to be polite about it; he really was a gentleman. "Would you like some tea, mister?"

"Yes, please," Jules managed to answer. Hopefully he didn't sound as desperately happy to hear the offer as he felt.

Anthy picked up a teacup and made tea in the slowest way possible.

As he waited for Anthy to bring his much-needed refreshment, Jules searched the bowl for ice that had been left untouched by the flavoring. Tragically, the spicy redness was spreading quickly down through the dish, and he could barely find anything still edible. Good lord, this proved more than ever how different some of the people here could be.

"Here you go," she said softly as she served him his tea. She "noticed" he wasn't eating his shaved ice, so she decided to ask, "Mr de Ferrier, you've barely touched your treat. Is there something wrong with it?"

"Ah, n-no, nothing wrong at all! I just happen to be an enthusiastic fan of tea," Jules said, grateful that at least part of this was the truth. He forced a smile sipped his tea, apparently unable to drink it impolitely under any circumstances.

Anthy pouted, trying her best to look like she did something wrong. "Maybe I messed up the flavors again..," she thought aloud.
