Pull my hair out in delight (GAME SPOILER ALERT)

Resident Evil is a name that is already considered an institution in the world of console gaming. Anybody who dares disagree with this statement can take 10 steps to the left of the lunar sea of tranquility.

However, above statement doesn't have to mean that RE is immune to being annoying. Many times, it still is, though in a good way. For the benefit of you people who haven't caught on yet, I'm talking about the Leon Kennedy/Ada Wong-starred Resident Evil 4: The Curse of the Tentacled Sword (Saddler would have given Soul Calibur's Nightmare a run for his money). Actually, it was my wife who played it (I swore I'm not playing it without an Action Replay Max - dying in RE games sucks), but last night she told me that she'd beaten the game (the Leon part, at least). I'm curious about the ending, especially after she told me about Ingrid making an appearance without her glasses. So I played the last segment. Provided you've saved enough ammo and bought a rocket launcher from Darth Sid... er, the merchant, THE FINAL BOSS IS DIRT EASY, at least compared to Code Veronica's.

The annoying part is this little minigame just before the ending. If you've read this far, it means you accept the spoilers you'll be encountering here so don't go blaming me if ever. Alright? In a nutshell, RE4 did some kind of a MGS, when Leon and Ashley had to escape the exploding island on a jetski. Okay, what is an RE game without the escape scenario, right? But I guess I'd have liked it better if Capcom did it in CV (it would have been more cool to control the Harrier jet - Ace Combat doesn't have it).

I guess my point is the RE series certainly does a good job in giving gamers some little extras to make the gaming experience more fulfilling. Yeah, beat final boss, and you still have to get out of there (I was quite the naive part for thinking that there's nothing more to do after roasting Saddler). Still, when it's unexpected, it's kinda annoying.

In a good way, of course.
