[There's a click as the communicator turns on, followed by an almost awkward pause, then the slight sound of shifting as the unseen user turns to speak with someone else. As her head is turned away from the device, her voice is rather faint.]
. . . this one?
[No immediate response, not yet - just a brief pause as the (for now) unknown other person seemingly remains silent. There is a brief shift though before he speaks, and once he does speak most people would immediately recognize that voice belonging to the one and only Date Masamune.]
Yeah, that’s the one. You’re doing great so far, Itsuki.
[Wouldn't that mean -- ]
Then people can hear us now, right?
[PAUSE GOES HERE. Good job Date, not thinking through this properly. Now everybody is going to hear this. :|]
...yes. [Ahem. MOVING ON NOW.] You know where the video button is?
Mm.
[If she recalls correctly, it was that button. She presses it, and the video feed turns on, revealing a whole screen's worth of a gloved fist before it's drawn back. Itsuki and Date come into view.
--uh yeah, hello there Death City. Date is currently doing his best not to look extremely awkward at the moment. Since there is a twelve-year-old kid sitting right in front of him.
Anyway.]
That’s the one. Now everybody’s seeing us. [Says this with a hint of a small smirk (even if he’s not too composed inside for now, he’ll get used to it soon). And he’s also just going to look at the screen now, grinning.] Say hi.
[This is fairly unknown territory considering the technology and all, so Itsuki drawls with a half curious look, as though she's uncertain how to go about the greeting.]
H . . . hi.
[Date just makes a laugh, absently going to ruffle up Itsuki’s hair as he takes over, grin settling into something of a smile as he speaks.] Yo, heard that a new batch of people came over recently. [Including you, Hanbei, but he's going to just ignore your existence for now.] The name’s Date Masamune, head of Oshu - I’m one of the Zone Leaders in the Watch as well, overseeing Outer Residential Quarter III. [A pause, and then he looks down at the girl next to him for a moment before grinning once more, turning back to the screen and speaking again.] Kid here’s Itsuki; she came with the latest batch as well.
[Itsuki, on the other hand, looks plain awkward from the hair ruffling earlier. And seeing as how she hasn't got much of anything to add, all she does is nod brusquely. She's leaving it to Date to speak.
And speaking is what Date does best. Well, when he has to. Like now.]
Anyway, just got something I want to say for anybody who’s interested: tomorrow at Death Robbins - the ice-cream place - is going to be booked by me for a little ice-cream party, so anybody who’s interested feel free to drop by to have some and all that. [Here he pauses to make a small amused sound, smirking.] Of course, just make sure you don’t miss out on your shift if you’re in the Watch. Otherwise, feel free to come by anytime you want - the place will be free for the whole day. [Because yeah, nothing like an ice-cream party before a big, important mission to take down Witches and all that!] I should be there for a good bit of the time, but if I’m not feel free to go in anyway. [Dante will be there after all, he’s certain of it. His partner can never resist something like this.]
[So yes, anyway.] If you’re interested just pop in anytime after training, once the shop opens. I’ll be there until noon, so if you’ve got words for me then here’s your chance to say them to my face. If you’re going, then I’ll be seeing you then.
[And saying that Date starts to reach out in order to switch off the feed, but then he pauses at the last few seconds and looks at the screen once more with a grin.]

[Okay NOW he’s switching off the feed. He can never resist the Engrish man, forgive him.]
