I don't know if you could get one without joining - but. [she shrugs.]
It's worth a try, if you really want one so badly. Though, this place doesn't seem all that dangerous, in comparison to others.

I have not encountered any dangers thus far, but... [he pauses to keep himself from coughing] We are still at war, and I would prefer to be armed even if an enemy attack does not seem likely.

Preferably a sword, though I am trained in using guns.

Whatever you've trained the most in, I guess. Though, that would put you in close range combat and greater injury risk, wouldn't it?

Personally, I've only ever used a gun. But then again, I don't think there was a sword in all of Romdo, so...
