[ahem ahem, military man here looking for your attention. He reads from a sheet of paper.]
Ash had an excellent idea of starting regular training sessions among the guests to prepare us for the war. Not all of the guests are capable of fighting, and I think this is a fatal weakness that will lead to our disadvantage. However, we will not leave our allies to fend for themselves, nor will we allow our experienced fighters to rust while we wait. [gesture gesture]
I have volunteered to come up with our regimen for training. [gesture gesture] So far I have discerned that we have four general types of people in our crew:
Batch One: Beginners and non-fighters, children.
Batch Two: Beginners and non-fighters, of age.
Batch Three: Intermediary, amateur fighters.
Batch Four: Experienced fighters.
Of these, the first three batches need the most attention. It is unreasonable to extensively train the children, but I will consider these classes successful if we can train the children basic defense and the ability to remain calm in battle. [gesture gesture]
The beginners of age, however, will be trained rigorously until they develop passable skill, strength and stamina. I shall come up with a regimen in a moment.
The intermediary fighters will be paired with different experienced fighters per week depending on the areas in need of improvement. The only way to improve would be through practical combat, given that these people already have the background for decent fight. [gesture gesture]
Those of batch four, while no longer in need of lessons, must maintain at least their current level of skill. As with batch three, the only way to improve would be to fight. Experienced fighters may challenge each other provided that both parties agree to a spar.
I have also decided that it would be impossible for us to train when the sun is high, which would be the hours of early noon to late afternoon. [glances outside, urgh so hot out there] We will train at the crack of dawn until 0900 hours, and if we have the time, resume before the sun sets.
We have a need for people capable of training the children. I believe Fa Ping and myself to be adequate for the adult beginners, but I am much too heavy-handed for the young ones. The venue, I will leave for the others to decide.
Suggestions will be very much welcome.
