[Dante looks extremely pleased with himself today. This is not a good sign. This first part is painfully public and completely unfiltered. And just when it looked like things would go well after Vergil's post.]You guys might remember my brother Vergil, he's the one who needed help with women a while back and had to resort to putting up those

Except the last part.]
...Dante...
[Quietly. Because she'd not sure what to say right now.]

I knew you'd be good for him. So thank you, honestly. I'd kiss you if it wouldn't make him jealous.

You're welcome...?
[This makes her curious and confused. How was she supposed to respond to that? Plus, for all the fighting the two brothers did, this made it seem like Dante really did want Vergil to be genuinely happy. She's more used to him constantly teasing and causing problems for him.]
Yes, I don't...think that would be a good idea.

But he's new to this whole thing so go easy on him.
Reply
I don't think I've ever seen him try to steal anything from you.
[She looks a little embarrassed now.]
I...don't really know what I'm doing either, so I'm not quite sure what you mean.
[Go easy on him?]
And we didn't...um...you know...
[AS IF THIS COULD GET MORE AWKWARD THAN IT WAS ALREADY]

[Tilts head.] Figures, explains why you guys needed help. Well if you need any advice you can ask me! [The offer is completely genuine and not actually teasing despite all appearances.]
I've got way more experience with that kind of thing.
[Sex advice from Dante makes it more awkward.]
Reply
[She puts on a private filter now....just in case. She's had enough embarrassment via the network already.]
Okay, then. What do you think I should do?
[After all, Rikku hasn't had any complaints about Dante, and she's dating him.
The best part...she's not asking for sex advice. Just advice in general. Dating is SO not something she's used to.]

Probably take it slow at first. Get him used to the idea of touching people. I don't think anyone's hugged him since we were kids...
I'd say start off with 'accidental' brushes, then holding hands, hugging, slowly make your way up so he doesn't get scared.
[And just when it looked like he was giving out good advice.] And before you know it, you'll have already done the deed!
Reply
I can tell you that's not true, since I can think of several occasions where I've hugged him already. [She chuckles.] He used to tense up whenever I touched him, but that stopped awhile ago.
I've never held his hand, though. I wonder if it would bother him...
[A raised eyebrow?] The deed? [A belated realization.] ....Oh. [Blushing forever.]

That far already? I'm starting to think that that's someone pretending to be him.
[Now he's curious to know how far they've gotten.]
How much did he tell you about himself?
Reply
It's gotten better over time. I'm not sure how much he appreciated it the first time.
[But his friend had just died. She hadn't been able to help herself.]
A lot, I think. I know about...what happened between you two back in your world. I know about the part that Lady played, to a point, and why she's so angry. I know...what will happen if he ever has to go home.
[That's something she can't even bear to think about.
She looks unhappy, then. A lot of what he'd told her about his past was sad, and it effected her a lot.]
I know about your family, too. [In particular, she's trying to be vague in order to avoid any awkwardness. Talking about the death of loved ones was always difficult.] I hope that doesn't bother you.

But it's the mention about family that floors him. It's the one thing he will never tell another person about. Everyone already knew about Sparda, but their mother was something he'd never talked about. His eyes widen and he flinches.]
He told you? [He feels shaky and much too exposed. Off-screen his hands curl into fists.
It takes another few moments before he's able to cover it up. It's too late, but he insists on it anyway.]
You know, first day I got here, he threatened me and told me to keep my mouth shut. Didn't want anyone to know about what he did. I didn't think he'd air out his dirty laundry so quickly.
[It's not a very good cover up, he sounds too raw and is clearly forcing it.]

[She listens intently as Dante speaks. This is by far the most serious she's ever seen him, and she has already realized that this is important. She has no desire to make him angry.]
I don't think I blame him. But I'm not sure he would have told me if he hadn't been afraid that Lady would tell me first. [That's something that still bothers her slightly, but it's neither here nor there. She's confident he would have told her eventually, regardless.]
...Please, don't be angry, Dante. This isn't a bad thing, right?
Reply
He's not angry, but this is something he doesn't want to face. Dante grows quiet and glances off the screen.]
...I'm not mad.
[He's faced blood thirsty demons without batting an eye, but this is on a whole different level. Dante's going to run and he ends the feed. He needs time for himself before he feels he can face someone right now.]
