::A delicately featured high school boy appears on the screen. He patiently waits until the camera settles itself, leaning back against one of the many battered walls of Death City. His indigo-eyed expression is neutral, unreadable except for a slight line of strain between his brows. As the image finally finishes focusing, he speaks. His voice has a dusky, not unpleasant quality, but the youth is clearly disgruntled by his unexpected arrival. Nevertheless, his words are formally polite, if unnecessarily wordy.::
Greetings. I am uncertain who in particular to contact, but to those who it might concern, my name is Naoto Shirogane. I am a detective who, until undergoing this unexpected 'field trip', resided in Inaba, Japan. This situation is highly unusual, though it seems similar to others I have recently endured - unfortunately my experience still remains noticeably limited concerning such supernatural events. I hope to rectify this unfortunate ignorance as soon as possible.
While I understand that my... displacement was not intentional, I must admit that it is highly inconvenient. I had a sensitive and important case underway. In addition, I have no doubt that my absence will worry my grandfather, who expects that I contact him regularly while staying away from the Estate. My friends will also probably be concerned, as they are understandably sensitive about people suddenly and inexplicably disappearing. I can only hope that my residence here will not be overly drawn out.
Let me say that I sincerely hope that whatever abilities I might possess will be of use in resolving this conflict as quickly as possible. I have heard that upon victory over the opposing force we will be allowed to return home. I can only hope I have not been misinformed.
