[This here is a tired, pale, and somewhat banged up Spirit appearing on the screen. The backdrop for this post seems to be the Death room in Shibusen -- blue skies, clouds, graveyard crosses.]
Death City has just suffered a witch attack from known Witch Eruka, the Werewolf Free, and the Deathscythe Giriko. The people who had snake tails on them -- our people have found the Witch Medusa's snake familiars in their bodies. Stein is going around right now purging them from the victims. Please don't get in his way.
[And then he appears a little frustrated, rubbing roughly at a bruise on his jaw.] The witches planned this well. They took Adachi from the chambers inside Shibusen. If you don't know who he is, Adachi used to be one of the guests who became a kishin months ago. We sealed him up here and used his energy to fuel the barrier that keeps most witches and the madness wavelength out. The madness wavelength came from the sudden separation of Adachi from the barrier.
You might have noticed that we have a new barrier up. [Gestures vaguely around him.] This one isn't strong enough to hold the witches back, but it can deal with the madness wavelength. Death the Kid is fueling it right now. [Pause] Which means that starting today, Kid can't leave Death City until we find another energy source.
This also means that we'll be relying on our own technicians and the Watch more to keep the city protected. [And here, he looks visibly agitated.] Thank you. To the ones who aren't injured, we'd appreciate it if you helped everyone bring the wounded to the clinics. And... help remove the dead from the streets. A large number of our residents were injured and killed this night.
The other Deathscythes have been called back from their own bases. They should be here soon.
