[TL;DR ahoy. She was going to put this up using video, the better to cow all of you into submission with her stern glare, but then realized that she might get a bit long-winded.]

It has come to my attention that a number of you have been taking the theoretical aspects of partnerships for granted - or fail to truly grasp the meaning of being half of a partnership. I have talked to at least one child who believes that he can survive a witch encounter even after flunking our "pretend" classes. I have attempted to rectify this viewpoint, but I am not certain if my admonitions were able to sink through his thick skull.

Now, take heed. Witch missions are restricted to three-star, and with good reason. They are far too powerful for beginner technicians. As of this stage in your training, none of you will escape unharmed if a witch were to fight you with the intent to kill. Our best chance of preparing you for such an encounter would be to raise you to at least two-stars, or even three-stars, as quickly as possible, and this is where theory comes in.

Meister and weapon promotion isn't only dependent on how "badass" you are on the battlefield. We also need to consider your knowledge, your experience, maturity and understanding of your partnership and all concepts of paired combat. It might seem tedious and a waste with our lack of time, but it is exactly because we are pressed for time that we need to make sure that you fully comprehend your responsibilities as a meister or a weapon sooner rather than later. The meister moves in combat, the weapon takes their wavelengths and amplifies both into a single force capable of cutting through our enemies. Neither is more important than the other, and there are some of you who keep thinking otherwise. If you can't understand and accept even this simplest of concepts, then you won't be able to resonate and fight effectively on the field.

To be fair, we were forced to stop giving specialized classes because the staff is shorthanded at the moment. We will try to put up the new system as quickly as possible, but in the meantime, this doesn't mean that you can't sit in with the regular classes, or that you should grow complacent and believe that you can't do any reading or practicing on your own. Do not stop learning, and listen to us--or at least respect our experience, as the veterans in this war. Your survival might depend on it.
