[Stripp and her usual hero-suit is on]
Hello Death City, how is everyone doing? The cruise was really nice, thank you for that!

I’ve two things I’d like to address today. First, it’s a question mostly to Shibusen staff. Are we allowed to keep pets in our apartments?

And the other thing. I was wondering - and I know we are at war, however it IS ( Read more... )

Animals do not need the help of people. If we're adapted here to our new environment, we should expect the same from them. Leave wild things to themselves.

That acronym is inexcusable.

Except we interfere with their environment constantly, we take them in as pets and we try to impose new things on them forcefully as we see fit. We must be responsible for our actions, else we'll only be beasts.

Acronyms are abbreviations formed from the initial components in a phrase or name. The groups' name is “Animals Need Universal Support”. I can't see what is our problem with it.

A species that cannot adapt to survive should be allowed to become extinct. Helping is meddling too. Save the prey at the predators expense or the predator at the prey's?

Nature knows better.

Humans are not a natural predator. Not anymore, at least. Or you are saying the species we have slaughtered are nature's way? Animals hunt for food, for territory, to live; we hunt them for fur, for horns, or because we are just bored.

That is not nature's way.

Are humans somehow above animals and no longer held to natural law?

If you treat an animal as a weak thing that needs protection, it will never grow to be something more. I will agree that there is a difference between use and abuse but as long as we are the dominant species the rest of the animal world will learn to either serve our needs or grow strong or clever enough to bite us back.

Humans have no natural predator, we made sure of it.

We can always learn moderation and avoid the whole bitting back; because bitting back usually means we will slaughter all of them before they have the chance to do so again.

This isn't about directly grab the wild animals and protect them from the world. This is about teaching us humans that environment and habitats are a fragile thing that we should understand and take in account. That is how we will support them the best.

Nn. Agreed. Though teaching is more effective when consequences are enabled.

Consequences? Yes, I agree. We had some in my world but I'm not sure how law works here.

But even so, consequences will only make them afraid and not truly aware. It's only a small step of the process.

You're on the watch. You have a weapon. And authority.

I don't think the Watch exists to reinforce law about animals.

I see no reason why you can't enforce your own agenda at the same time.

I've accepted to fight along with a group of people; we work together and I follow the orders given to me, as well as their rules. I'm not about to act as a vigilante.

I will not stand and see an animal being badly treated by someone, but the punishment given to said person will be a matter to be taken to the whole group, not something I'll do by myself.

It's called "vegetarian" and I just would rather not eat meat.

Not what I meant but validated none the less.

"Vegan", then. However, I eat fish. Therefore I'm neither.
