[He's peering from behind, with a small stack of books beside him on various subjects. One of them deals with World History, and he is very glad that his claws are now small enough to be able to handle books. He is almost finished with the book, but has left it opened in favor of seeing what England was up to.]

Who are you talking to, England?

Ah... [he ends the connection for now and turns to look at the creature. They'd been all around Death City, and to the library so the dragon could have the opportunity to read. unfortunately, all the material Temeraire wanted to look at was far too much to do in a day. so they had to check out several books]

I've contacted someone who can cook the food you want better than I can. [AUTHENTIC]

[He very much appreciated England's efforts, and when they reached the library, it was almost as if he was a child in a candy store, looking up books on mathematics and science, most notably chemistry and biology, along with history since he had talked to France about it, and the man-country said something about having changed. He rather much doubted it, but it seemed that the man-country was correct: he was now in the fifth republic, not in an empire or kingdom.

With what England had said right now, he could only look at him with surprise, even more so as his stomach churned and gurgled rather loudly. It was mildly embarrassing, but he could bear it, especially after hearing news like that.]

Chinese cooking?

[Yes, there is a hint of hope in his voice as he said that.]

[AW HIS TUMMY WAS RUMBLING GHJGDHJKJSJHGDGJ CUTE. England smiles]

Yes. I've actually contacted China himself. You can't get better Chinese cooking than that. [don't ever let it be said he didn't do anything for his citizens]

[The dragon hasn't eaten in what is now almost two days. He was considering eating that horse he saw earlier, but maybe he'll leave it as emergency rations for the time being. Now that there was the promise of Chinese cooking, he was looking forward to that.

But wait a second. Did he just say China?]

I must beg your pardon, but do you mean to say that aside from France and yourself, there is a China human-nation?

[piku] Ah, yes. A lot of us are here... Er, countries, from my world. [counting off on his fingers] China, France, America, Germany, Japan, Hungary, Denmark, Iceland, Cuba, the Ottoman Empire........ [a pauuuuuse] P... Prussia, too.

[He mentally memorizes them, so as not to be surprised when he hears some talka bout them on the network.]

Is there something wrong with Prussia, England?

You hesitated a moment when you mentioned him. Not to mention that you also stuttered a little just right now.

[WHY MUST YOU BE SO OBSERVANT... and so cute.]

It must have been your imagination. [quick quick change the subject] Now, when and if China contacts me, do you have anything special you'd like? Something specific?

[He decides to let go of the subject for the time being, in favor of talking about food. Wonderful, tasty, spicy, delicious, and very filling food.]

Cow, if you have any? With spices. Perhaps with a bit of rice and some vegetables for variety and color.

[Oh, talking about it was making his mouth water, though he still looked very calm while he talked. Oh, Chinese cooking, how he would love to have it soon. Good, civilized food, there is nothing quite like it.]

[nods, relieved that Temeraire dropped the subject] There's probably some cow at the market. I'll see what I can do. [or rather, what China can do, yes]

I am not sure how much of a cow I would need, since I would usually take two when I was my normal size. Now that I am smaller...

[He ponders about this for a second. It was as if he were two or so weeks from the shell in size.]

Maybe a quarter? An hindquarter would be nice, for it has a lot of flesh.

[t-two cows? hm. he hadn't even thought of that, how much a dragon would eat]

I'll make sure he gets a good-sized amount.

[Heavyweight dragons need a lot of food.]

If you would be so kind. I would need to measure how much food I would need until I am satisfied, and then I might see how much I would need per meal from now on.

Mmm, perhaps we should pick up the food from the market ourselves. Once I talk to China, he can give us a list of ingredients. Then you and I will go.
