October 19 Afternoon [Video]

[It's been a while since Watson made a video post, and for good reason, since his health still isn't the best it could be. For now, he's pale and drawn, and maybe that's panic underneath the bristling. He's outside the clinic for once, although not far: just at the steps of Casualty Communal ( Read more... )

Don't you think that you're jumping to conclusions? Especially given that people regularly disappear in that manner here...

Yes, perhaps. [murmur, absently.] I did not have the opportunity to see if her things were completely missing, only that Sandry is. If she was taken-- [trails off, trying not to remember that place, really.]

You said her things were missing. That's the norm here. I could accept panic and accusations under different circumstances, but like this it comes across more like you're just looking for reasons to start a fight.

You are mistaken: I said that she was missing, that her room is empty of her. I have already dueled with the young man in question, sir; it would be fruitless and a dishonor to do so again.

Then it's your own fault for not being more specific in your post.

[A pause, and he adds a moment later:]

So are her things there or not?

[What? Watson doesn't understand this logic. Somewhat exasperated:] You assume something and then insult me, and insist that it is my fault? You forget yourself, sir.

[Oh, for crying out loud. Watson is making his way back inside the building.] I shall see in a moment.

I'm hardly the only person who interpreted it that way, from what I'm hearing here. And I fail to see how I insulted anyone.

Yes, but you were the only one who was indiscreet enough to suggest that I would do so to be bloody quarrelsome.

You didn't just suggest that something bad had happened to her, but instead immediately pinned the blame on someone. Obviously you have a problem with him.

[How does Watson justify it by him being distraught? He cannot. Just looks a little haggard.]

It's no secret that we do not get along, and that he had blackguarded Sandry before. The conclusion is not so unreasonable in that context, especially in a moment of surprise.

If someone was looking to kidnap her, then I doubt they would be so obvious as to fight with her beforehand. If the situation was really looking like someone had run off with her, I'd guess that it was someone else entirely, taking advantage of the fact that said conflict existed, in hopes that the blame would be placed on him instead.

Perhaps so, but that seems a frightful option. The only ones I can see wanting her at the moment would be the witches -- they had not induced her to change.

Did you ever even find out if her things are still here? If they aren't, then there's no point in worrying over it at all.

I am making my way back, yes.

So stop talking to people over the network about the "what-if"s and hurry back more quickly. It seems like a waste of time, when all that anxiety might not be at all necessary.

But if people are speaking to me-- [All right, Watson will start with that excellent suggestion by idling on Saralegui.]
