[ Long time no see, Death City! Or...hear. France opts out of video this one time because let's not kid ourselves. Regardless of what came to pass in Michigan, if there was physical conflict of any kind, France got hit in the face. His poor, beautiful, absolutely, positively, purely innocent (at all times) face.
France sounds a little slower as he speaks, too, as if he's trying hard to say his r's and h's (it's more effort than they deserve, really. They should thank him, or maybe England should someday). There are also sounds of swshing and flapping, as if he's.... folding clothes. ]
I can say that I would fight for my own citoyens gladly, but... I.... I have you know the French never take kindly to being held hostage... never.
[ But he doesn't want to talk about that, and he doesn't want to be asked. ]
Anyway, being seasoned in battle myself, I can eagerly say that situations like this call for a good wine! To toast a victory or merely relax, il n'a pas d'importance! So...if you should like to join me, you--
[ a verrrry uncessarily long pause on his end. he's already had some wine clearly. human bodies are funny. ] Ahhh, zut alors. This laundry really piles up, non? I had forgotten this part of the battle...
On second thought I think I should have a victory celebration with my people right now. [ with the exception of Jeanne. so that leaves Jules. ] Great idea, Francis.
So then, Death City! Keep heart and au revoir! And if you're looking for a good time, then you stop by the French-Spanish alliance at your earliest convenience.
