[Amused]

I don't see why everyone's complaining about the sand being everywhere. We're in a desert. Besides, my apartment needed a healthy layer of earth.

Anyway, anyone I know get kidnapped by those freaky sand monster things?

... I'm not sure if everyone agrees with sand in apartments. It's a little inconvenient.

Then just sweep it out. S'not that hard.

It has a habit of getting everywhere though. When you go to the beach... there's sand in your shoes for months afterwards.

I don't wear shoes. I wouldn't know. Besides, it could be worse. It could be snow everywhere.

It's not like a few minutes with a vacuum or a broom wouldn't fix it. But if you like the stuff, good for you.

...A vacuum?

...

Basically a fancy broom. Sucks up dirt instead of just pushing it around.

Where does the dirt go?

If they were kidnapped, they wouldn't be around to tell you about it.

No duh. But other people would know.

That doesn't mean they know the same people you do.

There's not that many of us here. There's gotta be some overlap.

[The video blips on to a shot of a kitchen counter covered in sand. Perched atop the counter is a small orange cat, scratching at the sand. Enma sighs, setting the communicator down on the counter, away from the cat, and reaches down to take a sock off. He stands, turns it upside down, and watches the sand trickle out of it.]

...The desert isn't in our apartments.

It is now! But, really people, you had to expect sand to get inside sooner or later.

[slowly turns the communicator in a circle for a good view of the apartment -- piles on the couch, lumped to both sides of the door, a thin veneer over the bed, etc.]

This much?

[From somewhere off-screen, the cat gives a satisfied purr and Enma takes his hands away from the communicator for a moment, turns, and sighs an exasperated sigh]
