[L knows Light is from after his death. 2013... perhaps even further than that, now that he's been back to their world and back again. Yes, L's done a bit of research. Naturally, he knows what must be going through Light's head: the question of when in their world's time line L is taken from. Sorry to say, Light, but he's not going to be very open with this information, at the very least not at first. But of course Kira must have expected something of the sorts, mustn't he? L's not unused to being difficult. And besides, this time he's the one with something to hide. Rather ironic, isn't it?]

I understand, Light. Also, please refrain from calling me 'Ryuzaki', as that is the name I used while working on the Kira case, a case that does not exist here in Death City. [Not to mention, if Beyond Birthday ever shows up... Well, it's not as though B wouldn't be able to find L anyway if he's determined enough, not in this small of a place. Still.]
Oh, nowhere of interest. Just the first open apartment I found, really. [If only you knew, Light.] Although... as a detective, it would be extremely neglectful of me to allow my suspect to walk freely among the innocent people of Death City. In that case, it would only be logical for me to move in with you in order to make sure you aren't up to anything suspicious. It is my duty, after all.

I believe the name 'Hideki Ryuuga' will prove sufficient. Please tell Misa to call me this as well if I'm not able to tell her first. If any more people from our world show up, they will either know me by this name or know that I'm accustomed to using fake names and will therefore accept it as nothing new or they will not recognize me and therefore will take the assumed 'alternate universe' excuse when they wonder why someone like me has the name of an idol.
Even if Kira hasn't publicly surfaced here, that doesn't mean that Kira isn't still capable of killing or harming others. Even if any particular Kira no longer had Kira's power due to BREW's process of power stripping or because they were taken from that part of the time line where they no longer had that power, I would still be obliged to monitor them. Naturally, I'll have to keep an eye on Misa as well, and spending time with you will certainly allow me plenty of opportunities to do that. It would be irresponsible of me to rule any of this out.

That will not be necessary, but thank you nonetheless.
Please understand, Light. I will not be putting up any surveillance systems, audio bugs, cameras of any type, nor will I be handcuffing you to my wrist. I will just be living with you. It is not a far-fetched situation, nor are you unused to it. Not to mention, we are friends, are we not? It's not unusual for friends to live together. I am merely following through with the case I've been assigned in order to make sure no one here is in danger. Please understand. If I were to simply drop all suspicions merely because Kira has yet to be discovered here by the general populace, that would be extremely irresponsible of me.

Also, I trust you have no objections to viewing BREW. I thought it might be beneficial to bring you along.

I'm sorry. I didn't realize you had such an issue with my lifestyle... Actually, I take that back.
However, I suppose I'll have to make it up to you now, won't I? I don't suppose simply treating you to ice cream will suffice, will it?

Very well. Will making sure you get to see BREW be all right instead?
