[Hi gayz, it's your usual weary-looking eyepatched soldier boy. He's in his office at the moment. Also, he hasn't seen Dojima's post yet.]

Public;

I see that another new batch of arrivals has come in.

Roy Mustang, head of Death City's Office for General Security and commander of the Watch. [Smile, small but warm.] If you're new, I'd appreciate ( Read more... )

Thanks for letting me know.

I don't suppose you have any questions or concerns?

Pretty new, but I guess I'll ask the basics.

What does the watch actually cover. Is it military, civilians, or both. Do you require paired partners. How often does this apparent enemy get into the city.

And of course, anything on a personal level, including your own take on things, you'd want to pass on.

We're basically the next line of defense after Shibusen's authorities in the city - we've been charged with the duty of keeping the peace against criminals, monsters and witches alike. We don't require members to be partnered, but I would prefer accepting people with some combat experience.

...As to how often, I'd say more often than what's comfortable for most. We've had a number of attacks in my months here, and the only thing that's keeping most of the kishin eggs from coming in is the shield that protects this city.

[Pause.]

I'll give you my own take on things once I'm sure that I've answered your questions satisfactorily, so far.

You have.

I do have a question about the eggs...how do they...work?

You mean, what are they like as creatures, or how is it possible that Weapons can eat them?

Both. And how do they get into people to corrupt them? Or did I misunderstand that part?

[Video/Text] Liberally ripping from the FAQ, oh yes. ♥ thewarisover October 28 2010, 02:47:36 UTC
Hold on, let me send over some notes to you.

[The next part is TEXT.]

The Kishin is the Demon God. There are many incarnations of the Demon God - in fact, it is possible for more than one to be created.

The Kishin is the product of a corrupted soul, having gorged on the souls of the innocent to become something inhuman. Its soul produces what is known as the ‘madness wavelength,’ which nurtures the madness that lives within all humans, eventually driving them to insanity. If left unchecked, it would eventually force the entire world into madness, ultimately resulting in its destruction. Anyone who strays from the path and takes the life of an innocent is capable of becoming a Kishin.

[And back to video.]

Weapons can eat the souls of kishin eggs without any problems - I can't really say why. Meisters, however, will be poisoned if they try.

...On that note, you might want to attend the classes Shibusen holds. They're pretty informative.

Yeah, already have plans for that.

They sound a lot like vampires, at least on the surface.

Vampires? You dealt with them in your world?

That was my job. Hunting them.

I see.

That might just help you, then, when you participate in the fights down here.

I don't think so, beyond the usual warnings. Things can get pretty crazy down here, so stay on your toes.
