[Tony is busy scrambling out of his room and grabs Pepper along the way, not even really paying attention to the fact that she's there or what he's doing, just going on instinct. Pepper was always there. Just. always.

With her in tow he heads to Zee's room where he picked up on their location through the communicator device by just paying attention. If he had to break the damn door down he would to get in the room, but one way or another he was getting in.]

[He gives Pepper a flat look.

It only takes a few seconds before Tony has the door unlocked--his shoulder throbbing from when he proved that tv-physics wasn't realistic--a simple picking of the lock with a paper-clip doing wonders. He slams the door open and stomps in, looking around for Zatanna and the kid.]

At the loud noise of Tony breaking the door down, she pops out of the bathroom. She doesn't seem at all concerned. In fact, she waves at them.]

[At the sound of Tony breaking in and Luki leaving -- and the 'hi' -- Zee managed to muster up as much upper body strength as she can and pulls herself toward the door. The voice that comes from her is quiet and garbled, barely forming the correct words. Eventually, she seems to get the hang of it, but she can feel it in her, that she's only got one shot, maybe two. A second or maybe ten pass before she manages to get a truly audible tone to her voice. Though she internally imagines it to be a yell, it truly is barely above her normal tone.]

[Tony kept his face straight though he wanted to stare at Pepper for doing that. He didn't like what he wasn't used to.

Keep her distracted. Great. How exactly did one keep a kid distracted? He wasn't a circus clown here, he didn't know how to make animal balloons. And what if that knife were still around? He looked at the kid, analyzing a problem he wasn't familiar with. He'd be better off solving an unproved quantum physics theorem than this.

He stepped up to the kid with a stern look.]

The two of them were really over analyzing this. Even if she was potentially dangerous, Luki was still just a kid. Nevertheless, Tony's "distraction" is really a pretty poor attempt. Luki simply remains by the door, ignoring Zee's cry for help. She does pout up at Tony, though.]

[Zatanna manages to crawl (if one could call it 'crawling' considering her lack of leg-usage) closer toward the door. Upon seeing Pepper, she gives her a weak smile.]

Opened the door and she hit me. I... [The shivering is still there, but Zatanna can't even feel it anymore.] Just a kid. [Zatanna collapses, but her eyes are open, and she's blinking. Her breathing's steady. She just couldn't keep her body off the floor anymore. After a moment longer, she laughs a little, trying to tilt her head just right to get the soaking wet mop of dark hair out of her eyes.] How bad...?
