So many have re-explained this place, but there must be things that have slipped through. For one, I have not seen those "links" as much - what has happened to them? ... I... suppose they are out of date, aru...... Nonetheless! They are still useful! And much time had been put into them, so they should be appreciated! For those of you with any ( Read more... )

Identity is difficult. But...I think that what you do and believe is who you are. Appearances and names may change, but what you stand for does not.

[he chuckles at the second question] Having trouble with nourishment?

Not everyone can boast such a thing, aru. Their beliefs shift like sand. What of them?

[ indignant huff! ] In this makeshift army, yes! Which is very despairing, aru, as this place is full of plenty.

I think that everyone can. I do not speak of political bents, or biases; I mean the core things that one would die for without a thought. All people have them.

[more smiling. man can he relate] Indeed. At home, we were grateful for whatever was sent our way. Beggars couldn't be choosers.

... Good, good. Though for most, that does not vary so much, individual to individual. Would you say an identity lies with one's community? Partly?

Perhaps that is how it is naturally meant to be, because people do not do so well when they can find anything that they want without having to work.

Partly, yes. People shape people, after all. But in the end it is the individual who must choose for themselves.

I can attest that both ways have their flaws, and would rather have a well-fed army than a starving one myself.

[ pause. ] Choice. Yes. That would be a very big factor.

Aiiya, that is the truth. It would be best if "well-fed" meant "properly fed," nonetheless.

The largest, I imagine.

In a perfect world it would be, I am sure. We can only do our best until then.

What if choice is taken away?

Indeed. Have you been taking care of yourself, aru...?

Then there will be a fight.

Myself? I'm certain that my wife would not approve of my current diet, but it vastly superior to the previous one.

And then a further loss?

You are keen in survival, then. Good! Have you gone to any of this place's restaurants? The food must be different.

I do not think I can answer that, as it requires moving further from hypothetical to an actual situation.

I have not. There has been no great occasion to, and I am not a man who dines out without reason.

I see. ... Thank you for being honest, aru.

To investigate could be taken as a reason, I believe.

I see no reason to lie. But you are welcome, none the less.

True. I've never been particularly adventurous when it comes to my food; perhaps I should remedy that.

Will you truly? It will hopefully not be a bad choice. Simply avoid that "McDonalds."

Even if the food is lacking, I will have broadened myself that much more. Not such a miserable fate. McDonalds? Is there something the matter with it?

Everything, aru. It is... something your country came up with, and it is-- one of his more worse ideas... [ ah, doom and doom. ]
