I don't think I'm the best person when it comes to pets, but I was thinking that I should get a pet dog to keep me company here. What should I know about them, aside from keeping them fed, cleaning up after them, and possibly taking them out for walks often?

Get trash cans with lids. Mei here got into so much garbage before we finally got better trash cans.
