[Shin looks completely sober for the first time in a while! He's still got a cigarette handing from his lip though. At least it's not interfering much as he addresses the mirror with a Swedish accent.]Evening, Death City, and welcome, everyone new ( Read more... )

[Frowns a little.] I wouldn't dissuade people from the war effort. If anything, we need more people helping in these times.

[Lips curl up into a smile.] I'm glad to hear your band is coming along, though. How many more members are you looking for?

[He only mentioned fighting. He's just not happy with the war and getting dragged into it. At least he's decided to drop the subject.] One or two is all we need. The most important one to get is a drummer.

[That's fine. Not everyone has it in them to fight. He'll just leave the subject be.]

I see. Someone has to keep you all on beat, after all. Best of luck finding the rest of your band.

Thanks! A drumming machine can manage that, but if we can get a real person, then it's just a bit more feeling to our music.

[Nods.] Indeed. Technology can do a lot of things, but it doesn't have the same heart and spirit as a person.

No, it doesn't. A machine can't feel. I guess there's something that needs to be sacrificed for good music.

Do you mean convenience? Even so, it's much more rewarding to put in all that practice with one more band member. [Chuckles.] Of course, you know that already.

Yeah, it's nice to have another band member, even if at the moment all we're doing is covers. I don't really write music, and I don't think anyone else here writes.

[Lighthearted laugh.] Well, we're all from different worlds here. What might be a cover to a group of people is going to be new for a lot of others.

Yeah [He offers a weak smile] but it's still not the same as a song that your friends wrote, keeping everyone's strengths and skills and particular style in mind. Even if I didn't write it, it's still partly mine.

Hmm... [Raises a finger.] Maybe you need to recruit a songwriter as well, if that's how you feel about your music. They can write songs based on whatever ideas the band pitches.

Maybe.

Know anyone like that?

[Shakes his head.] I don't, unfortunately. If I come across anyone who might, I'll tell them about your band. Who knows, they might be interested.
