066 | Mustang + Scifo | Video | January 10, morning
[The feed comes on to reveal a dark-haired, clean-faced man in a military uniform; an eye patch covers one eye. He’s sitting at a desk, smiling at the camera.
Most of you will recognize him as Roy, of course. Those of you who don’t... well, there you have it.
Meanwhile, slightly behind Roy, puttering around in the background, is another clean-cut younger man with blond hair. Flynn of course is doing what he does best and making himself annoyingly busy.
Roy, of course, talks on, like he doesn’t notice Flynn hovering around. (He’s so used to it, lol).]
I see a lot of new faces on the network, and noticed you all on the tours during my patrol. I thought I’d introduce myself formally.
My name is Roy Mustang - I’m the head of Death City’s Office of General Security, Commander of the Watch, and a guest of Death City, much like a lot of you. [He turns away a moment, glancing over in Flynn’s direction.] Flynn, come over here a second, will you?
[Flynn looks up from where he was making coffee, bringing a mug over.] Ah, yes Sir?
Thanks. I’m about to introduce you on the network. [He gestures towards the camera, looking back towards it.] This is Flynn Scifo, currently the only second-in-command I’ve got under my employ. Say hi to everyone, Flynn.
[At the mention of being on live air, Flynn coughs and straightens up, unthinkingly running a hand through that untamable mop of hair before speaking] Hello everyone. It’s a pleasure and I hope we can work well together, despite the circumstances. [With that he even manages a stiff little head tilt/bow gesture before standing ramrod straight again. Roy, of course, watches this with some amusement before patting the younger man on the back. Then he’s back to addressing the network.]
Flynn, myself, the Zone Leaders of the Watch and our DOG’s liaison officers will do our best to answer any and all questions you may have. You’re also welcome to approach us if you’ve got any concerns as well. We’re here to help.
That said, I hope all of you don’t have too much difficulty settling in. Once you’re ready, I’d suggest joining the morning training sessions, held on a daily basis between 6 AM and 9 AM. They’re handled by a man named Gai. He and the trainers on his team are also more than happy to assist you in any way.

[Now Mustang’s all business. His expression’s nearly as serious as Flynn’s now.]
New guests means more people to watch over, folks. Stick to your patrols, and try to make them feel as welcome as you can. Liaison officers, your job is to catch anything that Flynn or I might happen to miss on the network.
We’ve got some new members: make sure to treat them kindly. I’d like to think that we’ll be getting even more recruits with this batch, but the only way of being certain of that is to spread the word about us around to types who look like they’d be able to handle the kind of work we do. [A smile eases his face once again.] Keep an eye out for potentials, everyone. We need all the help we can get. Now, down to business again...
[He turns away for a moment, reaching for his notebook. He adresses Flynn in the next part without looking up.]
Flynn, take note of this as well, will you?
[And in a flash Flynn has paper and pen, tapping the ink nub against his tongue before leaning in to hear every word]
First: Professor Marie Mjolnir is our new liaison from Shibusen. Treat her kindly, all right?
Second: I’ve taken a look at everyone’s records, and I’ve decided that Hyuuga Neji and his partner Lain may be our best bet as replacements for Date Masamune and Dante Sparda, as Zone Leaders of Outer Residential Quarter III. I don’t want to assign them, however, unless the patrolmen under this zone are amenable to their appointment. [He’s looking at you, Light, Riku, Sarah and Re-L.] I need to make the final decision on this by tomorrow, so please let me know what you think before then.
Third: Naomi Kimishima, our doctor on call, is setting up some review lessons on basic first aid. Interested parties on our team will need to contact her if they want to attend. She’s also looking for people who’d be willing to help her out with the lessons.
Last: I’m thinking of having another resonance session for our team, to give us another opportunity to see who we can work with on the team and hopefully give the unpartnered folks on the force a chance at finding a partner.
[He shuts his notebook at that point, and nods to his second. Sensing a bit that Watch messages are done, Flynn puts the coffee mug on Roy’s desk, along with a few not TOO big piles of paper, before stepping back. He doesn’t wander far, just in case there’s more he needs to take note of... but Roy tends to have at least one note for his ‘family’ at the end of these things, he’s noticed, so probably not.]
